The client software damages calibration data.

Lead,
The client software does not damage calibration data. The user does! If the user knows the hardware revision of the phone, and uses the appropriate firmware file, then it's pretty much problem free. Mixing firmware files from different (hardware) phones is what causes this mess.
I don't mind seeing people unlock their phones with this client program given that they follow instructions and have the correct cable. But, flashing is simply too dangerous, and leads to way too many FRAUDULENT claims to SE.
We have repaired all phones with standby and bluetooth problems due to remote flashing using proprietary software and we can succesfully upgrade firmware using the same. EricsClient.exe will not fix it. It's best to contact an SE service point to have your firmware upgrade done. I guess this does not apply to the US customers since I don't know of any SE service points at this time in the US.

If you are interested in Sony Ericsson flash and/or upgrades I can help. I certainly do not recommend using anything you find on the web that is free. There is a software package and special dongle which is required to flash your phone.
Email me if you would like to send me your phone to flash.

Beware! Send your phone only to the person you know or you trust for flashing. From where i come from, there is no laws banning software flashing but it is illegal to change its IMEI. Don't let others get hold on your IMEI

Been trying to access it for several days without luck, and it seems all the info that is needed for flashing is there...
