it's exactly like Darkmagician said: camdriver version is just a number, nothing big behind it. all revisions which SE did in drivers of retail models are only minor changes without influence on quality. whole big thing called 'quality' is inside software
I'm quite sure that LG in Renoir model used Sony sensor, this one from C905. however LG do not apply so much smoothing as SE did. if you wan't to see how really can sharpness look like in C905 just compare pictures from C905 and Renoir

no comments about contrast
LG never created own CMOS, they used sensors by OmniVision, Samsung Techwin and now by Sony. noise characteristic (not only) in Renoir and C905 is almost identical except of reduced smoothing in Renoir which is revealing more details and subtle noise (well visible on the sky). reduce smoothing more and effect will be almost like on pictures from C902. so, SE really can do something to improve sharpness
