That sounds like a good price! Was that a Vodafone store or an importer?

No no! It's an official Vodafone supplier! There's no importers in Christchurch as far as I know...

It appears that some pretty wild weather is headed this way... we've had strong winds and constant rain all day but nothing I'd call severe yet.
Off-shore winds as supposedly reaching Hurricane-force and are due to pass through Auckland approx midnight tonight. I'll keep an eye out and if there's any local damage I'll post some pics.
How's things where you guys live?

Well its been freezing cold all day today, and the last few days have been much the same. I think it was Thursday that it rained all day long, and yesterday was almost as bad. Pretty crap really. I can't wait for Summer.

Ouch!
Looks like you've suffered more damage than Auckland's North Shore over the last day or so.

Not much really, some road signs blown over, and a few temporary fences at construction sites flattened, some minor surface flooding. Not as bad as the flooding we had last year. I read on the Herald website that 30 boats have broken thier moorings in the harbour and Tamaki Dr was closed due to water breaking over the seawall. Tamaki Drive is a causeway near the CBD that has water on both sides and is succeptable to such weather.
I've always said Auckland and particularly the North Shore is boringly safe. Even the worst storm in a decade barely affects us. I'm sure some people in the Coromandel who are underwater yet again and cut off from civilisation by flood waters, broken bridges and landslides would give thier eye teeth for a taste of my apathy...

Ah, you're lucky. I wouldn't say "too safe", I'd say you've just got a great place to live!
I bet you wouldn't rather have the snow-storms they get down Otago way!
