@psychonymphe: Were you planning on getting the W900i? What made you change your mind apart from the relative price? I've seen quite a few people with it but it will never win a popularity contest with say the K750/D600 or Nokia 6230i which the more popular phones currently.

What can we call you psycho or nymphe? You choose

Ya the W900i was another phone that, besides Vodafone, no other UK network bothered to officially stock.

I must say i consider myself lucky to have gotten this phone. Nice to have a rare phone. But some people mistake it for the chocolate. God forbid i wont ever stoop that low...

The one piece of advice i can give you, psycho is that there are more powerful phones out now, it not being the same, but in some ways it will compensate. And also, you cannot watch movies on your shoes, or listen to mp3s with them(aparently the same does not go for underwear anymore-our friends at apple are bringing tunes that are close to our crown jewels:-)

The last thing i want is a popular phone; also the w900i's size is actually a lot more practical than people give it credit. As for nokia, forget it. Option2 is the k800i. I meant2ask francois, u said the screen of the latter is smaller than that of the former - is this really so? Because as far as i can tell...
It's worth taking into account that people's needs vary immensely - for example only geeks watch movies on their phones;) while its useful to be able to access tv channels etc, who the hell is going

...to get home and relax in front of their cell? And if music is ur passion, rather invest in a killer system. As for me, i dont see Nine West getting their priorities confused!

Hi Psycho, welcome to the thread. If it's phones you're after, folks, there are some incredible deals that go down on www.bidorbuy.co.za sometimes. I've seen the w900i, N90 and the like sell for some really low figures... It's really a matter of timing when it comes to winning something neat on these online auction sites... Have a look, some really cheap quality goodies up for grabs. I've been able to indulge my hobby tremendously the past few weeks

@ psychonymphe, hey watch it! i am a geek! lol!

Just a summary what I use the phone for(The W900i):
Music is the nr.1 thing I use my phone for. And not just the "listening to music" way, in fact, I do that very little. I am a musician as most of you know, my big hobby...I make all forms of real and digital music. Where the phone comes in: I sit outside on our stoep almost every night with a hubbly, guitar, and my phone. Never mind tracks that I can practise to, I have a applicaton called Vibe which is sort of a Midi editor, and I have composed so many guitar lines and all forms of tunes in that. Also used that to improve my drum track composition.

Then there is the fact that I can watch full-length movies on the thing...Really cool. Watching DVD's the times I do is quite hard. And I watch it in parts if it's a crap movie (which 90% of movies these days are) I have watched a few movies like that which I never would have watched any other way. But that is taking backseat...I have a new addiction: Rocketboom! I downloaded about 2.5 GB of rocketboom videos this weekend at a client who has a uncapped 1mbps connection: they don't use it weekends, so why waste...they pay 8k monthly for the line. Anyway, I quite enjoy Rocketboom's daily "news casts" so yeah, watching 3 minute video casts on a phone is a bit easier than on a pc for me. Same with funny videos. I have tons of the stuff! It is great sitting outside at night, puffing away on some fruity flavour, and watching all the funny videos we have, which is quite a lot.

The camera on this phone is great: 2mp is not quite 3mp, and 3mp in my opinion is the minimum for good photos, but the photos printed out from this baby are not bad at all. To the untrained eye it will look perfect.

Video clips are something I take a lot of. Am using that to start my video blogging(once I can find a 3GP video editor!) Reason for video blogging is to start making video of any form. I am an alternative arts freak: music, pictures, video, digital arts, writing, and blowing up fruit...the last one was a joke....

Never mind internet(opera mini) , some other applications, games, books( I read a book on it one evening: so much easier than carrying around a few books) and yeah...lots to use. All round this phone is suited to my needs, and that is why I got it. I have had it for round about 3 months and I do not regret it.

Anyway, psychonymphe, give us a list of what you need in a phone, other than it being a comfortable brick..=) Maybe we can help you figure out what brick will aid your future "sink to the bottom" when the mafia gets you...

@ psychonymphe, about the screen size, I am not sure about the physical size of the screen, but a screen can be the same resolution (320x240) without being the same physical size. I just assume that since the K800i is smaller that it's screen might suffer in that regard, but I might be wrong.
