Welcome to the sa post psyconymph..

Now i cant remember whom of you said this "i dont want a popular phone" i have to agree with that fully, but i am leaving that behind for the k800, coz no matter how popular it is, i believe it will be worth it, and then again, re popularity, the phone may be popular, but how many south africans can actually afford such a phone?

I am a chick, even the selfconfessed geek figured that1out;)

@francois, i followed wholeheartedly until u mentioned reading a book on ur phone; that is an absolute travesty. I need a big screen above all else. I need awesome battery life. I need it to be a SE. I need at least a 2mp camera. Music isnt an issue4me. 1thing i would love is2be able2store over 400 smses, but thats nothing but a bonus. I draw a lot and find it useful2take pics and ruminate on ideas, alterations, etc... And4that reason i cant use

...a dedicated camera because i wouldnt have it with me at all odd hours.

I said i didnt want a popular phone as that defeats all delusions of exclusivity. The k800i is n0t going to be exclusive, irrespective of price. At least it's a good phone, imagine owning something that's popular AND a piece of crap (LG choc).

Go for the K800, the only problem is this phones so good they gonna be around for a while and that means the price is gonna drop, then making it very popular...

@ psychonymphe, so i would like to officially welcome the first girl to this forum, that is, if you are the first girl...have not been here for too long, so I know not what happened in the past concerning women....maybe there were some long, long ago...

If you are into making modifications on the phone to pictures and stuff, the best might be to go smart phone. I am sure there are symbian apps out there that can do what you need it to do....that means w950i, which will need you to buy a camera attachment, one of the P's, which means you will look like a corporate...or else you have to use the cursed N brand....heard the 93 has near-dvd quality video....(but that matters to just me)

Also, about the geek thing, at least I am not a nerd.....I read the following somewhere:

"Well, the difference between geeks and nerds are worldiness. Geeks like odd, hip things, like Steve Earle, manga and Lupin the Third on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. They cackle at Sealab 2120 and love Aqua Teen Hunger Force. They wear soccer jerseys and build computers and appreciate sushi. I would be, by most definitions, a geek.

Nerds think chess is a great way to spend the day. They have collections of Isaac Asimov and Piers Anthony and think D&D is better when you dress up.

Geeks want partners, nerds want to be worshiped. "

I read some more on the subject somewhere else: it goes into the thing of geeks do something, learns to do it well and applies it for their benefit...A nerd on the other hand will do something, push the limits beyond anything, even if the subject matter is useless, and will not be of use to anyone...more a matter of principle...
Just a dumb example, but I have a friend that is sort of like this: he has never blown up a baloon. He refuses to blow up a baloon, because he has never blown up a baloon, and he wants to keep his record. It is absolutely useless, but makes for good example....

What do you guys think?
