Froyo was never intended for release in Q4, it's Eclair and not Froyo.
It's a shame it's been pushed back, but on the upside we may get something that doesn't have loads of bugs in it. I rather have a nice clean update than something that's going to screw my battery up again, or the like.
What this really shows, and it's been mentioned before is that SE just don't have the resources (or don't want to) to commit to supporting their version of the "skin" on the X10. Timescape and Mediascape and the actual skin seem to the be the big problem here with delivery of 2.1. Although I don't hate it, I think both timescape and mediascape are overrated and I don't tend to use them. SE would have been better of using the stock versions with Android as it's pretty obvious they don't have the resource to pour time and effort into an HTC Sense type overlay.
It's my opinion that without SE's skin we would be on 2.2 by now.

Dude, have you ever read the topic of this thread? It is something like "X10 official thread etc.." Do you have anything to say for the x10 in particular? Or do you want us to know that you are a HTC happy customer? Congratulations for your choice of picking up the best phone, but keep it for yourself. We don't want more sealovers here... One is enough

My replacement X10 did charge to the point that the led changed to green and then went out. Battery status did show 99% full. Have yet to debrand this one as i'm gonna test it over the next 2 days. If theres a problem within that time i'll be taking it back and cancelling with o2.

Its strange this as mine has only over the last few weeks started to charge to 100%. In addition this only occurs when charged via the PC/laptop and not via the mains which stops at 94-96%?!?!?
I am disappointed the software is not updated but to be honest I don't use the intended updates. I would like to see the back light on the buttons disabled and I assume some cosmetic changes. I used the Google navigation this morning and this was excellent spot on which pleased me to no end. Oh and why the speaker issue cannot be fixed in the interim I don't know!

I have a question open to everybody who has an X10:
Would you be disappointed if

turned around in 2 weeks from now and said "no 2.1 in October but 2.2 in lateQ1/earlyQ2"?

Difficult question Ricky D, but I probably say yes probably because the jump in term of features from 1.6 to 2.1 is greater than 2.1 - 2.2.

but in terms of performance and use of resources 2.2 is a massive up on 2.1
