@doministry

Nope! X1 from era is clean from the carrier stuff! It's generic UK version so there is nothing (not even internet connection setting or omnix shortcut) added from them. It doesn't have simlock and of course it has 2y warranty. I have Plus simcard in it and it works like a charm. After the first start it automatically set up all the plus internet and mms settings.

Ahh thank you for that. So your battery does not drain so quickly and is half empty by early afternoon? I have an XDA serra and battery life is bad. I have just got a new battery for it, will see how it goes over the next two days. If it doess drain again then i know it is a design fault and i will be swapping it for the X1 !!!!

Lower down the brightness upto 60% which is pretty decent. My p1i use to work for 2 days without re-charge with 60% brightness.
Peace

No, it's either completely empty or almost empty 3/4 of the way into my day. Figuring in the above mentioned use, plus the new apps I just got, I figure it'll last me half a day before it's completely empty now?... Not 100% sure tbh, but I'll report back here with what kind of an impact that software has on my X1's overall day to day battery life over the next couple of days K?

You know what? I didn't figure in screen brightness... :/ I currently have mine set to auto-dim and auto adjust the backlight. Maybe I'll try lowering the brightness (but not by 60% like you mentioned) and see what that does for my battery life as well. Thanks for your now very obvious sounding suggestion...

Wait, how do you adjust the screen bightness in WM again?... I looked under the Power management option and the only option for the screen is "auto adjust backlight", which I already had checked off... I also already had the phone itself set up to "turn off" after a minute of inactivity on battery power when left unattended. I have to say that I'm pretty diligent about "turning the phone off" with the power switch when not actively in use, or after just doing something with it... I also looked in the Advanced Configuration Tool for the option to dim the screen, but had no luck. @ Indiandawg you do know that this is a WM powered phone right, and not a UIQ powered phone, right?...

If you go to settings -> power -> backlight tab and uncheck "auto adjust backlight" box - 2 sliders should appear: "on battery power" and "on external power" slider. That's how it's on my X1 - ROM: 1.02.931.3 - 08/29/08

It has nothing to do with the advanced tab. You can set up dim timer (1st option) - in my case 10 sec, and also screen shut off timer (in my case 40 sec). So basically in backlight tab you can set up constant backlight level and in the advanced tab you can set timers for dimming and complete screen shut off. After unchecking auto backlight option the device will not use ambient light sensor (saving energy when set to low values) and the screen will still go to sleep after previously set timers.
