@ Whybe and Bider, all great stuff. Thanks! I'll check it first thing after my X1 is done charging! Thanks!

Btw, I have to say that given all of the issues I've had with this phone, I have to give SE credit were credit is due in regards to this phones antenna and reception. I was worried after reading several reviews (while researching it) that plainly stated that reception in fringe areas was/is bad with this phone. Using this thing all day today while Christmas shopping, I was pleasantly surprised to note that I got great coverage at the mall in my town and relatively good reception at the school I'm currently going to all last week! These are both places that I either got a weak signal at, or no signal at all before using my old N95 8GB and current Tmob service! The sound quality is also superb using this handset. People sound crystal clear and loud over the earpiece. The sound and reception on this thing is the best I've ever heard, or had the fortune to use (respectively) out of ANY phone I've ever owned or used.
I am however having a problem from time to time answering the actual calls as they come in. Sometimes I'll push the send/recieve key when a call comes in while using the headset or car deck connected through bluetooth and notice a pause, or no sound at all. It's strange and feels like the phone is hiccuping. Anyone else experiencing something like this?... It only happens from time to time, but has me totally perplexed as to it's origin...
@ Wirral Bagpuss, while at the mall all day today I listened to music on the phone using the included headset (which wouldn't answer calls using the mics built in button oddly enough) for about 4 hours nonstop, the longest time so far using this particular phone btw. I also used to the phone this morning during my work out to listen to music over the speaker for about 45 minutes and used the phones stereo bluetooth connection with my car deck for about 30 minutes to listen to music in the car while driving around. I also made and received a few calls while at the mall today, and am sad to report that my X1 only made it to about 5 pm before crapping out on me, which in my opinion is never a good thing.
At this point maybe I'll invest in a spare battery for it... It's currently charging, so I can have a full charge before hitting the bar tonight. Hope that helps. I'm going to adjust the screens brightness like others have mentioned to see what affect this has on my X1's battery life, though I don't think it'll do much since I always "shut off" the screen using the power button after each use. We'll see...

@borisisinvin, okay I know you wiped your hands of me
but just a question, did you use your N95 8GB for stereo bluetooth as much as you claim you do for your X1? All I know is that on my K800 and W910, using A2DP sucks quite alot of juice. 4 hours is a long time to run a continuous bluetooth connection if you think about it. That's not a "standby" bt cnnection as in the case of a bluetooth handsfree - that's a full time full bandwidth four hour bluetooth connection.
It actually sounds to me like you do quite a bit with your X1 and running out by 5pm doesn't surprise me given the usage you quote.

You know what? I didn't figure in screen brightness... :/ I currently have mine set to auto-dim and auto adjust the backlight. Maybe I'll try lowering the brightness (but not by 60% like you mentioned) and see what that does for my battery life as well. Thanks for your now very obvious sounding suggestion...
It's all good

No, you misread my post. I used the included (in the box) wired headset all day today while at the mall (at the lowest volume setting on the side rocker), and only used the stereo bluetooth for about 30 minutes total (the time it took me to get to the mall and back in my car). With my Nokia I used it daily in conjunction with stereo bluetooth and my car deck for about a hour and a half total in my daily commute (both back and forth). Let me put it this way, even though I had a car adapter for the Nokia at hand in the car with me always, I rarely ever used it with that phone. It may have something to do with the larger screen and more power hungry OS?...

No worries. WM isn't that power hungry tbh. I don't know about X1, though I have seen many reports that it can easily last a day with normal use (bit of internet, bit of music, bit of talk etc).
But take my Samsung i780, it has phenomenal battery life. My ipaq is good but not as good as the samsung. So I think it's not WM that's hungry but maybe just some phones.
My i780 lasted over 6 weeks in flight mode (I haven't used it lately) before it died, that included about 4 hours of internet use here and there otherwise all radio was off. When I am using it regulary I can get through the day and more with the usage you describe.
Maybe you are right about the battery use of X1. I will certainly be reading the forums closely to see other people's experience.
Question: do you turn wifi off when not in use? I only turn it on when I'm actually using it and this seems to help the battery last longer.

I am not sure if it is due to optimization of power consumption of the OS or the radio, but 6.1 roms of the TyTN II for instance are known to provide a longer battery life than 6.0

What I normally do is to tap the power button to switch off the screen. For example, after I switch on the media player to listen to the song in the car, I'll switch the screen off.
and whenever I dont' us the phone, I will switch the screen off without waiting for the auto screen off function to work. I found the battery life improve significantly. With my usage... (talk, internet, listen to the songs, voip, email push in every 15 minutes, tomtom) the battery can last more than 1 day. the battery left about 40% at night. However, I charge the phone before I go to sleep.

That's true, the 6.1 upgrade did improve the battery a little on the Tytn II, but it was an incremental change, not a dramatic improvement. WM is quite power hungry in my experience, certainly the Tytn II on either ROM was quite thirsty.
Battery performance on the Tytn II was also worsened by a bug in the GPS which left something untraceable still running in the background even after you'd exited any GPS apps, and continued to drain the battery even in standby until you soft reset. Be interesting to hear whether HTC carried that one over in their current ROMs.
The obligatory iPhone/OSX comparison - it does just as well as the Tytn II, despite having a smaller (built in) battery and taking a lot less time to recharge.

Obligatory, and tedious.
