I think you can remove the back plate (battery cover) by putting your nail in that small cleft in the bottom of the phone. I really can't imagine SE making a phone without a removable battery.
Ericsson made T65 without removable battery, so it's posible.

Wow, that thing is seriously fugly, especially the back. The camera position being near the middle looked nice on the K850, but it just looks plain fugly on this.

Huh, where do you see a 3.5 mm jack? You mean the thing far behind on the left side?

can we stop with the speculations?? its just a proto... wait until announcement before you scream and cry! (if there really is no charge port or removeable battery... which i HIGHLY doubt is true)

from a designer's point of view, i'm loving Kurara. I love the use of curves which we haven't seen since t68i, but a bit more futuristic. And it looks tiny too and I think i can make out a 3.5mm jack on the upper left side of the phone. Dunno about microUSB or fastport though.

I'm liking the design too. Its a long time since we seen such a curvy phone.
BTW, I wouldn't say wireless charging is out of the question.

The curve does remind me of the P800i

I'm not sure what you were seeing, but that entire back panel looks removable to me.

ditto. just like the T650, for example where there is no separate battery cover but the whole back half of the phone housing comes off before the battery or m2 can be removed.

If only they doesn't develop Satio and Xperia X10, but combines this two phones, they would saving much fewer resources by developing one killerphone instead of two at the same time!
I mean something like this >> Makes a Satio with an addition:
- Android 2.0 + SonyEricsson UX interface (TimeScape, MediaScape etc)
- Compass
- 4" FWVGA Capacitive AMOLED screens (little bigger phone dimensions)
- Bigger 1500mAh battery
- Stereo speakers +3.5mm jack
- Snapdragon QSD8672 (dual-core 1.5GHz processor)
- 1920x1080p HD video recording (yes snapdragon support it)
For reference, here is the difference between QSD 8250 (used in Rachael) and QSD8672. Although they were 2 years old (announced on November 14, 2007), it's still the most powerful smartphone chipset today:
QSD 8250:
1 GHz CPU
600MHz DSP
Integrated 3G mobile broadband
Support for Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® connectivity
Built-in seventh-generation gpsOne® engine with Standalone-GPS and Assisted-GPS modes
High-definition (720p) video decode, and multiple video codec support
High-performance 3D graphics – up to 22M triangles/sec and 133M 3D pixels/sec
High-resolution up to WXGA (1280×720) display support
12-megapixel camera support
Multiple audio codecs: (AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, FR, EFR, HR, WB-AMR, G.729a, G.711, AAC stereo encode)
Support for mobile broadcast TV (MediaFLO™, DVB-H and ISDB-T)
Support for Windows Mobile®, Android, and a number of Linux®-based operating systems
Qualcomm’s hybrid mode alternative solution
QSD8672 is the same with above, with an addition:
Dual CPUs, up to 1.5 GHz for faster response and processing
Low-power 45nm process technology for higher integration and performance
Higher-resolution WSXGA (1440 x 900) display support
High-definition (1080p) video recording and playback
Support for HSPA+ networks – 28 Mbps downloads and 11 Mbps uploads
Supports CDMA2000 1X, 1xEV-DO Rel 0/A/B networks
Improved 3D graphics – up to 80M triangles/sec and 500M+ 3D pixels/sec
