Have to agree with you there, even the in ear apple headphones are a waste of space which is a shame.
I have a propper set of headphones for my zen, Sure E2C's which are sublime ! Having said that the phones supplied with my w800 are excellent.
Sorry van but I have to disagree with you on this mate, think the walkman thang has bugged you out dude and your not being rational here.

Listen, i am trying to have a civil debate here. this is nothing personal, i like SE, but in all honesty, the walkman is the right way to go, but are sony ericsson going over the top? 5 walkman phones? the nokia n series is being released with quite a few phones but they all have different features that are good and even the W900 has no lens cover or much eagerly anticipated 3.2 megapixel cam

It's not the actual Walkman feature that annoys me, but the emphasis on the walkman brand on SE phones (through their design and advertising).
To be honest i really wouldn't mind if all the SE phones had the Walkman featured music player, so long as the feature isn't the main attraction of all or most of their phones. In my opinion they've made too many walkman branded phones, and the others that aren't walkman branded are either old or don't have new features such as a megapixel camera with autofocus.
They need to make more of a balance and create more phones that are based less on the walkman brand, but more on the SE brand which still incorporates the advanced features dominated by the walkman phones (megapixel camera) and maybe even the walkman player (features on this player are outbeaten!)

its way too much... placing a single logo anywhere will definitely get the idea... like their SE logo on the back.
how bout placing SE on the back and a Walkman logo upfront center if they want to make a statement... but placing at a button upfront, mouthpiece battery back cover. opening screen... sheeesh.. if im dumb i would think of it as a virus... or a bug.. hehehehe...
luckily im not.. so i think SE marketing specialists are just into this walkman logo.. hehe theyre prolly put in their shorts during weekends... wutevah!

This year is music on top priority for SE, previous was camera (becouse of that know we have nice camera in our SE phones), next maybe will be games at top of the list and at the end All in One
Anyway the orange color is slowly going from SE walkman,
so who would mine to have a W850 with cool silver and black design color with 1GB memory, great headphones and etc. amoug the rest good things.

I also think like the other guy said, they need to include advanced features on non-walkman phones too.
