Holden is the name of the Australian arm of General Motors. It and Ford are the two biggest local car manufacturers in Australia. Holden designed the first all-Australian designed and built car in the late 40's, and ever since we have had our own unique GM models, different to any other market aside form those Holden exports cars to - (for example the latest Pontiac GTO is actually a Holden Monaro)

End National Pride, back to thread topic btw, Holden don't have, nor any plans to have, a flying car

I know! It's a great concept, but I'm starting to doubt they have the financial clout to pull it off.

Mind you, they have started taking orders. They still haven't conducted non-tethered flight tests though, so who knows.

The car has top speed of 365MPH (theoretical - due to tethering they couldn't have actually tested this), fuel consumption 20MPG.

I was watching some TV show and they interviewed the guy who is working on the skycar project said that they might not have a fully working version until 2010 at the earliest....so seems unlikely we will see any working version soon....strange though how you can order one now from Firebox

seems like the mystery is getting deeper...This is the exact site of the google picture of the flying car and as you can see as the site is clean as a whistle so as for the theories suggested below all i can say is none of them are true unfortunately, nothing is evident at the site to suggest any of these.

Two cars parked next to each other
Hole in the ground
Trailer
Bus shelter
Water tower
Tent
Car on a pole
