WARNING. Rogers Wireless branded W810i have DRM in the latest shipments that do NOT allow MP3's as ringtone's UNLESS packaged with DRM rights or purchased through Rogers. I'm wondering if Vodafone has this SAME situation? INVESTIGATE!

> Other than that & Flash THEMES for the main menu (gotta LOVE ORBIT; a hustlers vibrator lol); you should be sorted out nicely.

Prom1 , i know about that DRM protection , i have a phone wich has that DRM . BUT as always there is something to do ; like you download DRM Packager from internet , and you convert any MP3 with that program into a DRM Mp3 , so it works great , no prob's . A bonus is if you have Sony Sound Forge , a great program for audio editing , so you can make mp3's of any size you want.

So yeah , that DRM is not ruining anything (thx god) . Take care , ciao

Siosal , a branded phone means that the phone is customized in a specific network. In you're case that would be Vodafone . As far as i know , Vodafone has the worse branding policy , they put things iritating , like screensavers that you can't deactivate them , links , features specific Vodafones. Hopefully , w810 appearence will not be modified with they;re logo , so at first sight you don't know in wich network is branded the phone . You will be missing FLASH THEMES , that's for sure , and is the only thing that it bothers me . Maybe you will be missing FIRMWARE UPDATE SUPPORT TROUGH SEUS , too . In that case make sure the phone has the latest firmware , before getting it ..

The other features are there in the fone . Good Luck!

Been looking for a debranding service here in SA. The one I knew about moved. But thanks again for the input. We don't have much choice on networks. We have 4 networks of which Vodacom (50% owned by vodafone) is the largest, MTN is second (and my choice for next network operator, but I would have to wait till FEBRUARY 2007! to transfer), Cell C, who are the youngest and most unreliable, and Virgin mobile, who only got set up here a month or two ago and are very unsturdy.

So I have very little choice.

So did everyone upgrade from the W810?! I cannot believe the battery life on this W810 EVEN with listening to MP3's so long during the day.

I finally got a phone that lives up to my old enchanted T39m of yesteryear.

I upgraded from a Moto to the 810 and still can't believe the battery

Didn't need to de-brand - O2 uk are good like that, they don't brand or
sim lock their handsets

And as for the 810 itself - By far and away THE best phone I've ever had !!!
