CROCODILE HUNTER DEATH TO BE BROADCAST?
Quote:The footage of late Australian naturalist STEVE IRWIN being killed by a stingray could be shown on TV. Charismatic Irwin, dubbed the Crocodile Hunter after his internationally acclaimed TV show, died yesterday (04SEP06) while diving on Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Irwin was filming for a new documentary when he lost his life, and his cameraman shot the moment when the stingray's barbed tail stabbed the legendary conservationist through the heart. The tapes are currently being held by Queensland police - but Irwin's family are determined to respect his last wishes and allow the harrowing footage to be broadcast. Irwin once insisted, "My number one rule is to keep that camera rolling. Even if it's shaky or slightly out of focus, I don't give a rip. "Even if a big old alligator is chewing me up I want to go down and go, 'Crikey!' just before I die. That would be the ultimate for me." An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "This is exactly what Steve would have wanted. He knew the dangers and was totally up for the cameras to get everything.
What a load of BS!!!!!
(No offense to you whizzkid, this is directed at the author of that article)
Steve Irwin would never have made those comments and his family certainly would not consider releasing the footage.
The CEO of the Discovery Channel speaking on Nine News said that the footage was the property not of Discovery Channel but of the production company involved in the documentary. Therefore its fate rests with Steve Irwins manager/producer who provided it to the Police, and is waiting to get it back. He has said that it should never be released and that it should be destroyed.
Unless the Cairns Police upload it to the internet, I can't see it happening.
I guess ficticious articles like this will be popping up for some time yet.

I used to really like his shows when it started airing initially...but then found it kinda 'boring' as they showed re-runs, so i stopped watchin his shows. But then last night (7'th sept) at around 10pm local time, i was surfing the channel n i saw him on Animal Planet. It was a show at his ZOO, n he was feeding the crocs. He treats them like pets, like playin "FETCH" with a dog or sumthin. I watched the show till 2 commercials

.
I wonder if he ever slept, he;s always chasing animals. and always smiling.

Apparently if Steve's family allows it, he can have a national/state funeral on tv and everything!

Yeah makes sense and all not having a state funeral. Though I'm sure there will be some sort of public thing soon after, just so his fans can show their respect. Since the president (?) loved him as well etc...
