@stallion
general tip, try not to restore back-ups onto new FW. I have found that certain bugs cause data corruption with settings data. I know its a pain but you might find your P990 will be more stable if you re-input settings, re-install apps and re-sync with outlook.

@stallion
the main changes are the fixes for bugs related to FC and FO mode switching.
By the way, this is what I do when I do a FW upgrade:
1. Upgrade the P990 (no back-up)
2. Back-up (this just backs-up the free games, themes & ring tones etc)
3. Master Reset
4. Restore games etc
5. Re-input all my data

How long should it take?
Mine said it was downloading update & now on screen saying Updating Software Do Not Touch The Phone.
No progress bar or anything (like P910i) and phone looks as though its off?
Scratch that! It just displayed Update Completed
See what I've got

All went well & now on R3B01. I did backup, just this minutes finished restore.
Backup not quite as I expected as the Shortcut menu has reset and I've had to re-install applications to show again.
I had to re-install TomTom on the memory card and my DocumentsToGo didn't show on the phone even in uninstall section so had to reinstall. Strange as Mobipocket, OperaMini & HandySafe still showing OK.
Bonded BT devices not showing so had to re-establish after restoring backup.
Web launching is much faster.

@Jah thanks mate for the tips but dont you have to re-do contacts and text messages, call info, desktop settings etc...
bit of a mission re-inputting all that?
i found the SE backup very easy and even my previous calls show up.
thanks anyway.
the new Voda Firmware has ironed out most of my issues so far as i said before the sound is alot clearer and louder than before... nice
my P990i has now turned to gold!!!
