I think what Masseur is getting at is Esato should strive for as few moderators as possible because, after all, the ideal forum would be one in which it was self moderated.
If Esato ever reached the stage where it required more than 10 moderators to be active at one time then there would have to be something seriously wrong with the forum to require that amount of policing and frankly, I don't think it would be a place I would want to frequent.
Apart from the Joke thread, (Ahem!) nothing much happens around here that the members themselves are not able to sort out for themselves. Esato already has good measure of respected and level headed members who are capable of sorting stuff out, which is a valuable asset to have in any forum.
Thats my opinion anyway.

@jojo, the problem regarding your pm's... surely if you maybe upset a member they would retaliate... surely its better done in PM than in a open thread where all can see.... im saying that for your benifit not the benifit of the PM sender
plus i wouldnt let a PM get to me, if someone sent me a 'nasty' one then i really wouldnt give two shakes of a lambs tail......
I strongly think someone checking our PM's is very in appropriate, not taht i got anything to hid but as someone else mentions its PM = 'Private Message'.... 'Private'!

Alright then, if Masseur reckons that he can handle the current load of moderating, then I'm in position to force the issue.
But if the current system works then so be it; if it ever does get too hectic then there are some people in the thread willing to help
