Can you be more specific SEUnlock?
Define much louder volume using a comparison please..(most preferably the ipod or N91)..
Also, you cannot review or just a describe a 100 pounds accessorie saying just very good..
Please be our eyes and shed some light on that exausted but not tamed yet dark monster: volume on SE walkman phones

I am not in town at the moment to give you any real stats on the sound difference but my P1 is actually probably capable of playing music too loud for the speaker to render properly, I would say that in terms of "clicks" that you can adjust the volume by it is at least 2 louder than the W950i.
The W960i is very much the same,.
As for the DS980, I have only had it about a week, and haven't had much chance to play with it but the syncing and sound quality are also better, never mind the cosmetics, the sound quality, clarity and volume seem to be enhanced. It is also much better for streaming movie audio through, as it doesn't skip every 5 secs lol.
Hope this is more info for you if you have any other questions feel free to email me.

In a previous thread there was an issue on SE ds970 stereo BT earphones, about left and right channels being reversed..

I think there is nothing you can do there.. Just wait for a new firmware fix.. Not a big problem really, but why you shoud have it since you paid a lot of money for your music phone?
How is the volume level after the latest firmware? If you can live with a low volume music phone, then you can live with a reversed stereo channels music phone I guess!!.. lol

the volume is the same compared to the previous firmware which is R6D.I can't really see what's the diffrence between these two firmwares. But I had R6D for only about a week b4 i updated again. For me the volume is quite ok as i'm using Itunes to rip my cd's at default setting aac and i'm using stock earphones.Sometimes the volume depends on the cd you're ripping. If some cd has low volume after ripping i'll just use mp3gain.But i prefer not to use it unless the volume is really low.For the reverse stereo i can live with it unless i'm watching movies on it.Anyway I will wait for the next firmware if there's one

Seems still to be on the low side judging by various reviews I've read.
