Not nessecarily true, we've always done it with the standard proofs of ID (driving license, debit/credit card etc) and processed it as a standard upgrade, more often than not it goes through DICE rather than Gateway, but either way should be done as a normal upgrade, is that right?

Hi all,

Just came across this New Price plan from the 1st June 2007 this is Vodafone's new Data plans and although they do offer better value than currently available they are still no where near either T-Mobile or 3's Data plans. Their proposed charges are up to 15mb per day no more than 85p which in a 30 day month will cost you £25.50 for 450mb. Below are extracts of the main points and sorry but i am not impressed at all and will be sticking to voice only on my Voda Sim and continue with my £7.50pm Web n Walk 1gb allowance.

Below are some extracts from the whole announcement and after it is the link to the announcement and full details. The only good thing IMO is it is charged daily so if you don't use any data it will cost you nothing but as you can see if you go over the 15mb per day it is charged @£1.70 per MB as is Video streaming or VOIP use and i just love the using more than 15mb really takes some doing statement.

Extracts from Vodafone announcement

If you regularly stream video clips and music, or download lots of content, you may use more than 15MB in a day. If you do exceed the daily limit – which really takes some doing – you’ll be charged £1.70 for every additional MB you use.

All prices quoted exclude VAT unless otherwise stated. You will be charged at £1.70 per MB on any calendar day for the first 0.5MB of chargeable usage. You will be charged in 1KB steps up to 0.5MB. There will be no further charge for the next 14.5MB you use. If you exceed 15MB, you will be charged at £1.70 per MB in 1KB steps.

If, in one day, you use less than 0.5 MB, you’ll only be charged for the pages you view. Viewing 5 made-for-mobile news pages, for example, will cost you about 21p.

The 85p per day charge and monthly data subscription cannot be used for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services such as Skype or Peer-to-Peer services (such as instant messenger services, text messaging clients or file sharing). These services will not count towards the 85p per day charge or monthly bundle, and are charged separately at £1.70 per MB, with a 4p minimum charge for each data session.

Here is the link to the full announcement it will take you to the cost first then just use the headers for additional information.

This is IMO opinion in no way competitive as with the more expensive Web N Walk plans the above usage is allowed and does not cost £1.70 +vat per MB. As far as i am aware the top T-Mobile plan costs £22.50 per month has a 3GB allowance and allows all the things Vodafone intend to charge you for and not forgetting HSDPA speeds as well.

The contract, ie for a new phone and to renew your contract. To change the tariff thats a job for Staff Accounts CS
