does the hard screen make any difference? it would easily crack if some force is applied on it where as N73 would bend and absorb the pressure

not really i just hate the fact that they're recessed makes them hard to clean...

the hard screen is an extra protection. cos a new front cover is way cheaper then a display

the n95 screen like the n73 has a flexible protective plastic cover matted over the TFT below. This cover is able protect the TFT below from cracking by knocks on the surface. Unfortunately it cannot protect against puncture by sharp object.

Hi all,
Well as some one that actually does have a 16m colour hard screen and it's big to, I can honestly say it is very good indeed and not just for Multimedia but even apps look great. Possibly the best Calendar and E-mail views i have had on any device.
As we get more into quality Multimedia it makes perfect sense to me for screens to also get better to enhance our viewing experience. In my experience they also don't seem to have a terrible effect on battery life as stated by some, but then you would expect a manufacturer to take this into account when choosing the battery for their devices any way.

I say sofia might have a 16M color display. that would account for the delay in announcing, maybe SE is busy implementing the hardware changes into the new or modified UI. so will the successor of the p990i...

Not only a sharp object, a decent bump can split the liquid turning everything black!!
