Marc_SE, and to the author of this thread,

If you guys have a prototype P1i, and thinking that you dont have to return them back to SE. will you guys be able to update the device thru SEUS Online or maybe im guess you special fellas have a different route for upgrading?

No you can't update prototypes with SEUS. But of course I can turn them from brown protos, to red retail products and allow them to update as they should.

So the latest is the end of July SE will start shipping to limited retailers? That's a little disappointing. I was hoping to get this phone like last week

Hi Marc.

What JWM meant was if you receive an sms the phone vibrates or alerts you by a tone if you haven't read your sms yet.

Samsungs and Motorola mobiles do this. Every 3 or 5 minutes they remind(nag) you until you read the message.

Does look a very nice phone. Im torn between making a stand against SE after the P990 as late, then under performed and has now been dropped, and with getting a P1.
argh!!

Mr SSEM has a RETAIL handset AFAIK, so flashing it should pose no problems with SEUS.

As mine is a prototype, I'm hoping I can use davinciteam's new UIQ3/PDA flashing service to update mine as and when firmware updates get released. Failing that (and possibly getting a retail handset upon UK release) the prototype may go on sale.

hi mate, u will easily notice when running nultitasking, back on my p990/w950 when opening opera n IM+ device won't go well, either task will be shutdown n it will fail opening 'em again, until reboot took place. that was already using latest firmware thoug i admit my w950 performed a little better than my p990

thanks marc that's a pretty good news!

Yes, the light at the bottom flashes for SMS/calls/e-mails until you press a key!
