@ Swiftfox -- The iPhone has an on-screen QWERTY keyboard that you type on with your thumbs. Think of it as the same as the P990i or P1i, but you save the time it takes to actually press down the buttons. You really just have to try it to see how fast it really is...

Rather than just a one line answer could you please explain how you reached that conclusion, because it seems a pretty incredible one to arrive at? As i can't see one feature where it is better or more powerful than the E90 so that is quite some claim unless of course that is just your opinion with out even seeing an E90 in the flesh or using one.

The comparison of P1i vs the E90 reminded me of this fortune cookie I got the other day from my Slackware 12 installation:
Violence stinks, no matter which end of it you’re on. But now and then there’s nothing left to do but hit the other person over the head with a frying pan. Sometimes people are just begging for that frypan, and if we weaken for a moment and honor their request, we should regard it as impulsive philanthropy, which we aren’t in any position to afford, but shouldn’t regret it too loudly lest we spoil the purity of the deed.
-– Tom Robbins
The point I am trying to make is about weight and size. With an E90 in your pocket you don't need to carry a frying pan around

@AbuBasim
That really is the most silly analogy i have heard the E90 is a Buisness device it is not a fashion item. It's not meant to be small and pocket able just look at the internal screen and qwerty and you will understand why it is that size as you couldn't fit those on anything smaller.
In every single review you will see it is mentioned as being the most powerful and advanced Symbian smart phone ever produced. Whilst quite simply the P1 is no more than an outdated P990 with an extra 64mb Ram and was meant to have a better better camera and nearly every review i have seems to highlights the fact it doesn't even have HSDPA.
There is absolutely nothing else in it's specs that is class leading or cutting edge. It also appears very much like it's predecessor the P990 you either get a good one or a bad one and that surely can't be right either. Whether you like the E90 or not to claim the P1 kicks the E90's butt is just ridiculous the E90 would smash the P1 to pieces both on specs or on hitting each other.

Marc, the P1 is unquestionably better than the E90 in terms of pocketability, and like it or not that's a very important factor for many people when choosing what is still, when all's said and done, a phone. The fact that the P1 can be so much smaller, lighter, and conventional in its form factor while still providing a credible alternative for almost all the functionality of the E90 makes it strong competition.
I've said this before, but for me there is nothing impressive at all in cramming every possible function into a phone that then becomes so big, cumbersome, and expensive that it simply isn't practical as a phone anymore. Arguably that's exactly what's happened with the E90, and every previous Communicator in the series - sure, there's still a market there for it, but there's a good reason why its small. While the E90 compromises on the basic practicalities of a mobile phone (like size and weight) the P1 compromises on some of that amazing "power" that you speak of - and yet it can still perform most of the very same tasks, in a comparable way, and be a small and light carry-everywhere phone at the same time. That, for me and many other people, is a far superior device.

how can it be faster than p990/p1i the se devices have stylus input/qwerty input the iphone has no kb!
anyone???
first off stylus plus mini-onscreen keyboard is slow (the on screen keyboard on iPhone is big enough for fingers, P1i's one is too big for nails)
secondly the P1i does not have the usual QWERTY keypad, and no, pressing in the middle wouldn't give you the choice of 2 alphabets, you must click accurately to tilt each key to one side in order to get the right alphabet. the text-prediction will not correct for you, unlike the iPhone which predicts that you might click on the adjacent key

Of course! Why do you think I put a

at the end? It was a joke but apparently missed it's intended target and landed flat on the ground

See, I specifically did not want to say that you only want to complain about something you have no knowledge about. So I suggested instead that the general statement you made wasn't very useful. Wasn't that a nice thing to do? And then you go ahead and ruin it.
I guess sometimes you just can't please everyone.
Hi Nipsen.
I think my comments as to the rather shoddy build quality of

products is a fair assesment of the situation, as to "want to complain about something you have no knowledge about" you assume too much I am afraid
I guess somtimes people dont think!

Not forgetting the fact that the P1 is quite a bit cheaper too, BTW if i had a quid for everytime that Dogmann slagged off the P990i i could retire a millionaire. Memo to Marc, we heard you the first time, now move it along!!
