err...i think they meant the G series to be "boring", meaning, to look like any ordinary phone, but packing inside smartphone features, and a touch screen, at a very small price. Objective: make UIQ and touch screens into mainstream

seems lots of people here just donīt get it, hence all the moaning...

G-series has nothing to contribute when it is based on 2005 spec (P990).

Only time and sales will tell
I think its a good step for SE to create a mid-end series with TS and some business features, and think it will be quite succesful!!!

Lol
What appeals to millions of people, it is not necessary it also may appeal to a one particular person. so he/she should look for other brands. MAY be he get the phone of his/her choice!!

i think g-series was nice, pls dont compare it with p-series, because this line is not p-series successor, maybe we can compare it with nokias n73 or n77. As we know SE phone actually cant compare with Nokias smartphone, people always compare SE non smartphone with Nokias smartphone which for real is NO FAIR, maybe G.-series is an answer from SE to compete head2head with NOkia

That's exactly what the G series is - head to head competition with Nokia, but with added bonus of TS. (until we see Nokia Touch anyway)

I'd almost be surprised now if SE bother with the hardscreen UIQ version we've all been wondering about. With a UIQ platform in mid-range phones, ala Nokia S60 in N8x and N7x series, there is probably no need for SE to go down the path of hardscreen UIQ. A200 will be sufficient for low to low-mid range phones.

Until Nokia Touch, SE actually has a small lead on Nokia with the G series.
