@Dogmann
If it is possible to create and edit office files that would be called a real improvement. With additional A2DP and expected apps apple would even convince me to go for it as iphone's screen and UI are just perfect.
You are right about new SE phones, 2.4" screen is very bad and no feature or pocket size could compensate it, IMO.

Of course you can't use MobileMe unless you get an iPhone it's designed for it so i just don't get your point at all. But the fact the iPhone offers this now is a good thing for iPhone users without Exchange server support. Not everyone has and uses just Business E-Mail and contacts and calendar sync but know they can have it.
As i said personally i use Seven as that suits me best so MobileMe doesn't really attract me either.

Point is its not specifically designed for the iphone i would have liked to and could have used it with my vista desktop pc for business and pleasure my vaio ux 4.5" vista handheld for on the road in business hours and pleasure when travelling, but because i cant use it in my free time on my windows mobile device or any future phone thats not apple they have just lost another customer, not everybody likes the iphones size etc. Hopefully they will bring out a smaller iphone, then i might be more interested.

You do not need an iPhone to use MobileMe. It is basically a service to keep all your information up to date over many different devices, the iPhone being one of them, but it is fully compatible with a Windows PC and a Mac (not sure about WinMo devices though). Watch the Guided Tour and it tells you this:

I would have thought it's at least in part Exchange based, since this is launching co-incidentally after the Iphone gets exchange support (with Iphone OS 2), and syncing contacts, calendars etc OTA with a remote server is exactly what Exchange does. Since WM devices have long since been built around Exchange as a core MS technology, I'm sure they'll be adaptable to it.
Having said all that I can't watch the guided tour on this PC, so if there's a flashing red banner throughout saying "Definitely Not Exchange Based" then you have my apologies.
Also, it's worth pointing out that similar subscription services which are definitely based on Exchange, and thereby accessable on a much wider range of devices including the Iphone, have long since been available...

@Boinng
I was merely pointing out to jkthewarrior and dogmann that you can use the service with PC and Mac without owning an iPhone as it is not a specific iPhone service.
It is actually very similar to .Mac except now they push everything to your devices instead of you fetching it.
I think, the main reason they re-named it from .Mac was to try to get some Windows customers (normal everyday folk not business people) and stop people thinking it was Mac only. To use Apple's own quote "it's exchange for the rest of us"

I really want the x1 but i dont know if i can wait for it! The htc diamond is out now and the 3g iphone is out on the 11th July! SE say that the x1 will be out before xmas - but they always lie.
I never even considered the first gen iphone - thought it was ridiculously over priced and under-featured. But my main concern with it was the lack of 3g and qwerty. Now they have fixed the 3g and i've played with the touchscreen qwerty on a few iphones i can honestly say that i've changed my mind. And o2 will be doing the new iphone for £99 on a £30 a month contract (not sure how good the contract will be tho)
I still think that the htc diamond is the front runner which is a shame because i was so looking forward to the x1, but now it looks a choice between htc and apple because i could own them both in a few weeks!

On the £30 tariff you get 75 minutes and 125 texts.

...Not everybody checks emails on their phone thats why mms is a better choice (for now) to send a quick picture etc and the end user receives the pic straight away like an sms. Yer there is push email etc but like i said most mobile users dont use the phone for emails...
This is the entire point and why the iPhone is revolutionary - because networks make MMS easy and email hard and expensive. The iPhone turns this on its head and this is the right way and the way of the future IMO.
So you take a picture, add it to some text and send it as a MMS. The network has a 100kb maximum so your picture gets resized and is only of any use on a small phone screen. In NZ I can send MMS for the same price as txt and can send them for free to my wife and son on my plan. Emails with picture attachments cost heaps in NZ on a casual data plan and on my V640i VodafoneNZ have disabled push email so I have to set a pull setting (I choose 4 hr intervals) but only because I have a 1GB/month Data plan.
I was asked by a friend just yesterday about how to setup/use email on a VodafoneNZ phone and its such a convoluted process frought with many ways of accidental ending up with a massive bill, that only those who've had it backfire (like I have) fully understand it.
This is why MMS is easy and email is so hard on conventional phones.
With the iPhone one can start using email more often (with some new decent data plans), send/recieve full size photo files which can be used later as a desktop background, printed or shared with MobileMe and use push email without having to resort to a PDA or Mac/PC. Because checking email is easier on the iPhone, you'll send and recieve more emails and probably less MMS. Plus iPhones email client connects directly with other features such as GPS making email a easy and practical medium to use.
Like Dogmann I can see the benefits and advantages of the iPhone even though its not the device for me. I hope SE pick up on alot of these features and put them in a W980 type device, I'd be very happy then!

Firstly, I don't believe there's ever been anything "hard" about email on phones. SE phones have had email clients built in since before they were even SE - my Ericsson T39 had one back in 2002(?) - and it's never been difficult to attach a picture and send it. Yes, push email is a fairly recent innovation but it wasn't the Iphone's - any number of devices have supported it for years.
However, there are very good reasons why "most" people don't want to use push email for sending casual, instant, mobile messages. Most push methods (blackberry excluded) require a constant data connection, which quite apart from the network's cruel habit of charging people for such services, is also a constant drain on battery life. If you don't want or need constant access to your email (as most people genuinely don't) then leaving it on in case someone sends you a funny picture is just silly.
MMS is, like it or not, a much more convenient and efficient way of sending small media clips (such as pictures) from one phone to another instantly. It's quite well established, and even those who never use it, are probably quite capable of doing so when pushed (unless they own an Iphone of course). Many of us are quite able and equipped to use email as well, but it's simply not as practical for most purposes - not because of some conspiracy by the networks, or because email is difficult to use, but just because it's a sledgehammer to crack an egg, when every non-iphone on the market already comes equipped with a suitable teaspoon.
To talk of email on the Iphone as "revolutionary" is classic Apple hype, and exactly the kind of thing that just breeds cynicism on forums like these. The reality is that the Iphone does exactly 0% new in the email department - it's no easier, cheaper, or quicker than sending mail on my WM phone for example - it simply promotes email more as a "phone" feature because another, more basic feature is inexplicably missing.
