> 12 megapixel Sony Ericsson Kokura on its way?
Bookmark topic
In my opinion, having 12 mega pixels camera in the phone is pointless.
If you want to make a clear picture for a huge paper, would you even use the phone's camera?! Nah. You would want to use some professional camera.. This is just a mega pixels competition in the market now.

The more megapixels, the clearer the pcture in smaller resolutions.
It's never about the full-size photos.

Yeah, because we all know what those are bound to look like, don't we?

Sony Commercializes World's First, Industry Leading Resolution 12.25 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor "Exmor(TM)" for Mobile Phones, new phone expected in March
Sony has just announced the Exmor IMX060PQ CMOS sensor, which paired with its matching auto-focus lens module (IU060F), will turn some lucky handset into a 1/2.5, 12.25 megapixel shooter when it enters the race in March 2009.

I hope they've improved the optics. Either way, we have a real race on our hands.

YES - SE just announce it ! And is running the s60 OS ! For a chage I love SE
Lets hope,Nokia won't suck then dry with patent infringements. While Symbian is open source by now, the S60 touch is a bit of a problem. Yes one can use the os (more or less at will) but to get there the hardware must be designed in a 'certain way' and this is where Nokia smiles all the way to the bank. Huh, and all of a sudden I don't like Nokia anymore - if they play dirty
It reminds me of the South African goverment: Under public pressure, they gave a certain amount of watter free for all BUT one must pay a fee to get access to the tab

Is the KoKura supposed to be the Idou?
Is this a conversation/Thread about the Idou or seperate device?
IF
chooses to implement the "USB Type A (host)" - this will change the game. No other smartphone has implemented this feature since the good old PDA days of Casio's last PocketPC device almost 6yrs ago.
