I agree that this is something Sony Ericsson could do better. Having the latest Android version is important for 2-3% of the interested consumers while the remaining 97-98% do not know the difference between 2.1, 2.2 or 2.3 or they simply do not care. The thing is that these 2-3% are the tech bloggers and reviewers of mobile phones so this is what potentional buyers think is important.
The life cyclus of Android sub versions seems to be shorter and shorter, and Sony Ericsson throws in a lot of proprietary things on top of Android which needs to be implemented and tested before public release. I guess the upgrade "delay" we often hear people complain about are caused by this.
My thoughts exactly. Let's hope that the wizards at XDA can make a naked Android build for it when SE begins to lag some 8mths after worldwide release. Compared to the Samsung Inspire for AT&T this should do quite well. Pricing will be KEY to this devices success along with smooth/fast performance.Apps & features are there already and its fairly current in spec - top-tier that is for the Neo or something better I think.

I read somewhere that it has noise cancelling, isn't the second mic for that?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ arc will be powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, and the Adreno 205 GPU will give a great graphical performance.

Nah. Don't thnk that will happen.
From
Slashgear:
Sony Ericsson has slimmed down their Mediascape and Timescape elements; the former gets an optional media widget on the homescreen, while the latter is now slimmed-down and optional rather than mandatory to use. They’re also been uncoupled from the underlying Android OS, which Sony Ericsson says will allow them to upgrade the platform far quicker than on the X10 and other variants. One of the company’s 2011 priorities is to push out upgrades on a more timely basis.

I hope with Exmoor the camera will be better cos the x10 camera was poor imo. Looks nice with great specs and Gingerbread but I hope they improve Media Scape if they use it again. Though nice design it looks like another finger print magnet. Wish they would do a white one.

I love it's media player (large album art is really, really cool), the display, the sexiness.
It's actually making noise and sensation on Twitter!
How about its camera? Has anyone got stolen shots?
If the software is the best, then don't bother about the hardware. It may be not dual-core, but it's simply irresistible.
It must be not too expensive for the company to gain profit.
