You didn't get your credit card out once you had a look and feel? I don't think I'd have had the same self-restraint.
Best electronics purchase I've made in well over a year. I think Xperia Arc was my last 'true love' electronics moment.

You're THAT impressed with it? Nice. I want to see one in real life... If only I could walk into a phone shop without being attacked by salesmen...
Did you manage to get ubuntu on it then?

It really is that impressive. I can't believe it hasn't had more press and fanfare.
I'm running ubuntu, yes, using mainly the terminal to command it though. I can only get the desktop to run through VNC which isn't very responsive.
I was really hoping to get
Ubuntu on Android working but there is seemingly no-one working on that project anymore and no source codes were released.

From an iPad mini to a satisfactory android tablet.
Sony seems to be pretty good at taking iFans.
@Ricky D
Typical Sony regarding promoting best in class products.

PocketNow has done a good review on this. Gives it a good 8/10. It's beautiful.

Not yet. Didn't know it was ready until just now when I looked it up after your comment.

I didn't update in the end, just before flashing I realised the FW I downlaoded was for the LTE Tablet Z, not the WiFi Tablet Z which I have.
I did have a quick read though some observations on xda though. It looks like multi-user function is available (finally), performance has been improved, and there are UI changes to make it look more like the phone UI e.g. centred back/home/tasks buttons, status bar at the top and quick settings in the notifications menu (like on the handset).
I wonder also if it comes with the split left and right notifications that was seen on Nexus 10.
I'll write up a review when I eventually get my hands on the FW.
