Yes but it seems the OIS does not work too well in Nexus 5 and HTC One, even the 2 axis + software combo (LG OIS+) in G3/G2 is not on the same level with Sony digital SteadyShot.

I think this may be the last of the Z phones with this design. They've perfected it here... so much so that I am now tempted to upgrade my Z2 to the Z3 which is quite unnecessary really. I just love those simplified edges and the new colour.

My Z2 has caused me a bit of grief so I was thinking of going with the next iPhone but the Z3... Hmm... the Z3...

Sony Xperia Z3 Video Demo by HDBlog

Again, stabilization is amazing.

Again who needed laser and more jibberish kind of OIS? The image stabilisation was good in the Xperia Z2 but this is in a league of its own.

Because OIS does actually work

Yeah it works but does it work any better than SteadyShot?
According to you it probably does but I don't think so.

It's not the same video but if you compare the posted video by HDBlog, I definitely think SteadyShot outclasses the OIS of LG G3 from the clip I linked to.

@Bonovox
I'm talking about video stabilization.
In video recording the digital SteadyShot is much more stable than the 2 axis OIS + software combo in G3/G2.

Indeed! The stabilization is very convincing...
Colours and low light shots looking also better on the Z3. Only focus is maybe a bit slow and soundquality?!

The problem is SteadyShot doesn't work as well for stills and most of the time people take more photos than videos...

For the G3, I think its due to the fact that it is using 2-axis OIS and not 3-axis OIS like on Nokia devices. But still, SteadyShot is definitely on par or better than the best OIS implementation.

This shot looks pretty impressive I guess the new G Lens is pretty high quality, unlike the crap G Lens on Z1 and Z2.

Have to admit that this shot does look very impressive, let's hope that the retail units are just as good.
