I think... you just repeated what was posted above. So I'll just answer you with what GSMArena said...
"The only thing we're not sure about is what Smart OIS stands for. There's no specific mention of optical image stabilization on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and the less protruding lens could mean it's only Electronic image stabilization (EIS). We'll certainly have to see about that before we pass our final judgement."
So I think even though samsung is saying OIS... its not all that believable at this point. Especially after that camera analysis done by PhoneArena... saying that the hardware does not support Image Stabilization.
For now, Im waiting for a teardown... maybe then we will see what it really is.

You wanted a teardown, well here it proves what I and especially Samsung had already said, namely the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have
OPTICAL image stabilizer produced by STMicroelectronics 2 stabilization axes !!!

I wont argue... but calling someone else's opinion as 'unfounded and unjustified' is uncalled for. I mean, who are you to dictate what one's opinion and suspicions should be? Each to his own, right? You think you have the only opinion here that matters and noone should say otherwise!?
I formed that opinion based on the fact that the new phone is thinner, not as good in video, and is using an older chip! And looking at the photos shown in the other thread... its not as good in picture taking too! Also, as I kept on saying, its only MY opinion..I DONT SPEAK for anybody else.
Now if a teardown proves that I was wrong, then so be it, I wont mind. I NEVER said that my opinion was always right, in fact... the reason why I wanted a teardown was to be SURE if I was wrong or if I was right.

Im a bit of pragmatist when it comes to what the manufacturers are saying. Remember 'antennagate'? If Apple says that 'you're holding your phone' and that's the reason why you're loosing signals.... would you really believe them? Then there's their so-called 'OIS' too... then a video came out showing that its just fancy post processing and not really OIS. So try to understand why I dont quickly believe what a manufacturer says.... I need to see some proof before I buy into it.
