A Sony-Ericsson headset must work well together with a Sony-Ericsson phone. Boy was I wrong. I guess I should have read this topic before I bought a HBH-35 to go with my T610 (W26).
The headset crackles like crazy and the other side of the line hears a lot of echo. Tomorrow I will upgrade the firmware and see if that works. Otherwise it I am gonna change it for a Jabbra.

Anyone using the Jabra BT200 freespeak? Does it have any of the cracking problems with the T610?

I've tried the HBH-30 and HBH-35 as well as the Jabra BT200 with the T610.
Both the HBH-30 and HBH-35 were really bad. The Jabra is better but is still bad.
I'm yet to find a headset which works with my T610 and doesn't crackle.
I really feel that this is a phone issue which won't be fixed by buying new BT Headsets (believe me - I've already purchased three headsets that have the problem).
I've also had the phone firmware upgraded to the R1L release and it didn't make a difference.
Why can't SE just admit this is a problem with the T610 and provide details on how it can be fixed... Instead of us all wasting our time (and money) trying to find a solution.
Mark.

The reason SE wont admit this is a hardware fault is because it will cost them money to fix it! They would sooner fudge over the problem with a dodgey software fix that costs peanuts compared to a Hardware fix.
I sent SE a 3 page email ranting about this problem and the crap service I received from Celestica! Since I received my phone back from them, several of the buttons really creak now! But i'm not going to send it back again because it will be another 3 weeks before i get it back.
In the email I sent SE I've asked it they have resolved this issue on later manufactered models, or are they just impletmenting the software upgrade only as a work around
If this problem has not been solved on latered manufactured phones with a hardware fix i'm going to return my phone and get a Seimens SX1 instead. Has anyone got / seen one of these phones? If so what are they like? Are they any good?
It's a shame, I've been a Ericsson fan for the last 5 years, but since Sony have teamed up with them, they have gone right down hill!

I've just spoke to the Muppets on the SE help desk, and basically they told me that the HBH-30 is 'not very compatible' with the T610, i need the HBH-35. So I said fine, my HBH-30 is only 4 months old, so will they swap it out, and they said no!
They said that there will be NO hardware fix to the T610 as the RL1 firmware upgrade is sufficient. Basically I've got to live with the problem, and they will do nothing about it!!
I'm gonna ditch my T610, write to customer complaints, Watch Dog, The citizens Advice Bureau and Trading standards!
The is the end of the line for my Ericsson relationship! Why the hell did they team up with a micky mouse outfit like Sony???

I own a HBH-35 and it crackles too. Before you buy one, try it. It seems to show the same problems as the HBH-30.
Today I have updated the firmware on my T610 and it is much better, but there's still some occasional crackle and echo left. For headset sound quality I give it 6 points out of 10.
Hearing that the Jabbra won't solve it the problem either I will probably live with it. I do like the HBH-35 ergonomics, the long battery time and the fact that the charger is the same as the T610.

I have the T610 Week 24 and a HBH-35 and I have the crackle, I am extremely annoyed at this whole situation and especially the Customer Service or lack of it from Sony Ericsson.
