Perhaps the Z600 is already registered in the FCC database...
Someone can search?

If i'm not mistaken FCC is only for US market, so maybe they won't release it there and therefore it won't be there, so that is no indication.
As for the belief, well, maybe I am blindly believing Sony Ericsson Indonesia, but I believe him for a reason. I have lots of experience into how Ericsson works, and they give their newest prototypes to senior managers who are willing to test them, making this sound like a plausible story. The reason for wanting a clam-shell replacement of the T610 is to make the market ready for them, because they are the future. I actually don't prefer them at all, but if one looks at Japan (which is about three years ahead of us in technology) they are all clam-shell phones over there.
@ripkord
Of course you have reason to be skeptical, I would be as well if I wasn't as familiar with the company in question as I happen to be.
@Sony Ericsson Indonesia
Thanks for sharing this info., even if it isn't true it shows that SE are moving in the right direction with their product development.

As Z600 will be triband (1900Mhz for US market) he have to be registered in the FCC database to be authorized on the US territory. As it was the case of P800, T68i, T610, etc.
For more info about phones who are registered by FCC you can consult phonescoop.com

I definately see things going the way of the clamshell. With an external LCD, you get the basic information. Really, its alot like the human brain, by making the cerebral cortex convoltued, you make more use of the available space, which is limited. So, by making clamshell phones, you get the keypad and the screen in a better layout. PLus, with the smartphone push, we will start to see more styli driven interfaces like UIQ, Palm, and Smartphone. In those cases, the rotating screen, like some LG and Samsung SGH-D700 will be preferable because one can rotate the screen for a traditional PDA feel. My 2 cents

Those two phones are for the Japanese market and only the Japanese market. They don't work anywhere else in the world.
