i can synchronize my t68i with winxp using XTNDConnectPC_R3A01_english but i keep loosing the synchronization often. is R4 better?

also, does anyone know how to make more fields show in the contacts? when i go into phonebook/options/contact info you can check/uncheck which fields you can see, but nothing happens. anyone know?

@emanmiami, no promises but i think it's worth a try. when you check a contact field, and go to the edit contact, the additional fields will be displayed.

I downloaded and installed Package 4 on a W2k machine, hooked up my brand new DRS-11 cable to my T68, and the PC doesn't recognize that there's a phone connected. Same thing with Package 2. The help says there's a 'troubleshooting' app, but it wasn't installed on my disk.

I can use IR to get to the phone from my Linux notebook, but I want to use the phone book app on Windows.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Just bought my t68i, and the drs-11 cable, downloaded Package4.

My system configuration are:

AthlonXP 1.9
WindowsXP
OutlookXP
T68i firmware version R3B003

I installed it and ran it the first time and it worked fine with me. Downloaded MyPictures too. Can you transfer .imy files via cable or do you really need an IR connection for the PC?

No difference if you use cable or IrDA. You can send melodies, themes, ringtones, logos with both connection types.

OK, more detail this time. I have a T68m (hoping to get the 'i' firmware soon), firmware R2B013. I have a Dell desktop with one serial port, so it'd be hard to look in the wrong place for the phone. That computer runs Win2k, sp2 I think. I first installed the 'ImageEditor' application, which included the mobile phone monitor app. No phone detected.

Then I installed package 2. No phone detected.

Installed package 4. No phone detected.

I see a pattern here. The help system for the phone book app says there's a trobleshooting application, but I don't see it.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks.

@faster, did you enable the com port using control panel -> phone monitor options?

The phone book app (I think; that's what I run to get to it) shows the com port as enabled and not reserved. I have used the com port to set up a firewall and an 802.11b access point, and to sync a couple of Palms, so I know it works.

The phone monitor puts up a dialog that says "No HSCSD devices present!" when it starts, and almost everything is greyed out. How do I tell the phone monitor to look at COM1?

Is it possible that my cable is DOA?

Thanks!
