suppose they could write

"use the search "
thats pretty aggressive, especially if it was in capitals....

but most questions that people post the smilie in have really simple (sometimes even yes/no) answers...

the reason for my request to add the smilie was an increasng amount of responses such as 'you FCUKING TWAT CAN YOU NOT SEE THE SEARCH BUTTON' and 'search for it yourself you moron' and much much worse.

so it seemed a less offensive option at the time.

even tho it is abused in much the same way as i described above..... so it didn't do what I hoped for.

Still a forum is all about asking and answering questions... so there should be no need for either smilies or rude replies or grievance becoz of 'newbies' (

I guess its all relative... as Mr E was once said to have said though I doubt he actually did in much the same way that Bogart never said "Play it again Sam" and Captain Kirk never said "Beam me up Scotty"...

but I digress

yes, in that way it does seem less offensive but perhaps the mods should have been issuing warning to such people

Yes... and here we come full circle to what may in fact be esato's only REAL problem.

The mods are simply not omnipresent.
And unless they get alerted by a member, certain (bad) things may escape attention for quite a while.

I think Esato has gone uphill. Like a lorry driving up a hill! I mean stop moaning! Go buy a Toblerone stop moaning. I had nothing but god things to say about newbies and and all! I love everything! I dont hate anything! Well i some things. But i only moan in a good way

Right - time for my two-penneth I'm afraid.

If anything has dragged Esato downhill it's stuff like this thread:

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=43451&forum=29

Blatantly asking for free stuff that they're not prepared to pay for, probably without having tried to look for it in the first place. And they posted the self same request in another thread.

...and that is exactly the kind of topics I'd like you to PM a moderator about!
Stuff you (all of you) don't like you can "remove" yourself just by sending a PM to one of us.
For the reccord: I've removed that topic Fritz 24 reffered to.
Please, please, please send us, or me, a PM when you spot this kind of stuff instead of "complaining" about what a poor job we do.
