people, since a lot of you continually write these things wrong, let me expain there and their:

there .. here, there, everywhere. i go there. let's go there. there is no exit. ...

their .. our cars look better than their cars. their customer support is great. they look fancy with their shiny px00s.

i write this because i see this mistake on a lot of boards, just trying to make the 'net a gooder place to be

BOT:
yes the p900 is what the p800 should have been. but so is the t610, that's what the t68i should have been. there(!) will always be upgrades, and there(!) will always be features that cannot be upgraded on older phones.
and who said SE won't continue to write updates for their(!) p800?
enjoy what you have. i jumped on the px00 bandwagon since i was finally able to afford it, but fell in love with the p800 originally.

For older phones yes but the p800 and p900 are almost identical in capabilities thats why se stop produce updates they dont want to show to people that p800 is capable to run all the programs p900 can so they stop it,nice marketing but really stupid,it work though for the mass because they dont know anything about tec.

@everybody except coolfighter (nothing personal )

this is another stupid statement which came out of someones head. coolfighter has no proof, bit like the 'sony ericsson is going down' topic that got locked. noone has any proof of this and the p800 will always be the best and most complete mobile phone in telecom history because it was the 1st. sure the p900 is better, but it has been influenced by the p800 and i dont see any p900 or p800 users arguing between themselves because we all get along. SE support both phones and treat them as technically advanced smartphones and in my opinion shall support them until noone owns them anymore! They have put a lot into these two phones and do not want it to go to waste by saying pee off p800 users and get a p900. so lets leave this pathetic thread and start discussing useful and beneficial topics about our phones and not arguing over nothing!

There is a problem with the new P800 and P900 phones. These devices are capable of much more than just calls and sms (eventually MMS) and the investment required for buying such a phone (when it is first released) is quite important.
I can understand some of the concern of the people who spent a lot of money for such a phone and now are being told "well, just go and buy another one". My personal opinion is that these phones are getting closer and closer to being "computers" and by this I mean that software will have to be managed separately from hardware. Imagine if you had to buy a new computer everytime a new software is released...

The lifetime of these devices has, due to their price, to become longer and therefore people who invested money in such a device have the RIGHT for it to be performing for more than just a couple of month.
I have to disagree though that the main criteria chosen to say that P800 is old is the fact that "wallpapers" are not available yet.

I think that P800-P900 and the following phones have started the trend in which the SW part has to be handled differently from the hardware one. But it seems SE (as well as other manufacturers) still haven't fully understood the issue.
