@USB - you have to have gprs with html page viewing enabled in your gprs account, you have to contact your network provider for verifying that. Once you've done that, simply install the k700 modem driver from the CD which came along with the set, setup the gprs account in the mobile and create a new internet connecton in the pc and set the modem as k700

well what i did was
1) when i plugged in my k700 thru USB cable, it automatically detected my k700 and asked to install the drivers from the CD which i did so
2) next, i'm not sure what i did cause it was a long time back but i created a new dialup connection and selected my k700 as the modem ( i think there was an option to select which gprs profile to use for connecting, not sure )
3) when i selected connect on that dial up dialogue box , i saw the gprs icon automatically appear on my k700 but since i didnt have the html facility i couldnt use it, maybe some one else can help you there.

Hello!
I tried the procedure described in this thread on my K700i and it worked. I was able to browse web pages using webviewer.
However there are some comments:
1. As I can see this procedure anables you to work only with html traffic and only from a java applet. Moreover, that applet must be started using Device Explorer. If I start webwiever directly from mobile it refuses to work.
2. There is no way to use this crutch in preinstalled web browser (located in main menu under internet services) or media player (i.e. to view streaming video)
3. Only http communication is actually working. When I try to connect to some server using port number other than 80 it fails.
Am I right?
Or maybe not?? Coz I'm really interested in viewing streaming video on my phone over bluetooth, not gprs.
Has anyone get this stuff working in some app other than webviewer?
Looking forward for some answers
Sorry for bad english :F
Thanx

@ JST
Webviewer currently doesnt support streaming of audio and video. I know it sucks but hopefully will support it soon.
The only problem i have is how can i start Webviewer from the phone and not the Device Exploer! Every time i try to start webviewer from my phone it fails and says "could not connect to server"

The port 80 restriction is not related to the WebViewer application. Sony Ericsson's implementation of J2ME support the MIDP 1.0 profile only and not MIDP 2.0. MIDP 1.0 does allow any traffic on a port other than port 80. So unless SE updates its J2ME implementation (via a firmware upgrade) we cannot use other ports for streaming media.
Note : I am talking here about the T616/T630 firmware only (thats my phone), I have no idea what MIDP profile is support by the K700.

jamshedd, PLEASE can you help me!
Why cant i start webviewer from my phone? If i start webviewer from my phone i get the error saying "Could not connect to server". However if i start webviewer from the Sony Ericsson Device Exploer i can view all websites! Every site i go to works.
Why?
How can i start webviewer from my phone and view websites?
By the way i have a full registered version of Webviewer and my phone is a Sony Ericsson K700i.
