Nice of you to go to the personal expense for the masses and keep reporting on it. So 3 months and still no phone... This message was posted from a Z600

I thought I'd update you, except I've got absolutely nothing to update!! Absolutely no-one has joined the list, and the one person that should have recieved his k700 looks like he may not have got it at all - the website still says 'awaiting shipment'.

I hope that my £20 has been a cautionary tale for others - and that it has helped a few people come to the right decision about these sites.

Think it's best to save your money up and just buy the phone imho.

A bit of a late update, but here goes!

I checked the site I'd 'signed up' to recently, just out of interest, and lo and behold, the K700i list had been removed! It said somewhere in the small print that they were within their rights to stop a list if and when they wanted to, and those who have paid don't get a refund, as they were 'paying' for the signal booster and the ebooks on CD.

It seems that people that sign up to these things have no rights at all with regards to the 'free gift' phone, as you have legally bought that signal booster and CD

I hope my experiences have help people make up their minds about these kind of pyramid sites, i.e. don't bother, save your money and simply buy a phone, much simpler, easier and you get your phone quicker, there's no such thing as a free (or cheap) lunch

These sites do work if you sign up as soon as a list comes on and if its a site where hundreds sign up, theres only one site left that cycles well.

i've got the following phones each brand new and for £20 , nokia 6820, 7610, v3 razr, d500, another d500 and getting a w800i as soon as the site has stock of them

I still think it's a big gamble - if you're not either first or maybe second in one of these lists you stand little chance of getting on it. And how often do the owners of the site update their lists - e.g. you see a 'new' list with no names on it, but is that because it hasn't been updated in a couple of days? And when it is updated you find yourself 5th or 6th in the list with almost no chance of getting your phone?

There's too much uncertainty in these things, the only way I can see of almost guaranteeing sucess is if you sit on one of these sites all day refreshing your browser in the hope that a new list pops up and you can get your name down ASAP. Even then you're not guaranteed, as many sites I believe let people put themselves on the list a as many times as they like paying another £20 or so and referring themselves, so they in effect 'jump the queue'.

And besides, they're on dubious legal ground!
