@orangeman Very nice reply. 6600 is really a great phones, whatever the fanatic users say. But to say the truth it has the good and bad nokia. Good is fast menus and good connectivity. Bad is very low quality polytone speaker and difficult memory card swapping.

That's why I bought a SX1!

6600 also doesn't have stereo MP3 playback, which is the bigest problem in my opinion.

ok ok guys...slow down.....I've changed 15 phone in three years (phone nerd

) and I've also had a nokia 6600...I've bought it in november 2003, sold it in april 2004 bought a panasoni x70 sold it a couple weeks ago and I now have a k700....about the 6600...that was one of the best phone I've ever had..I'll now tell u why..but I'll also tell u the big problems that phone has...If you've ever had that phone you've surely noticed that : audio sucks, display is nice (compared to 3650) but not as nice as k700 or other manifactures, however it does quite well it's dirty job, menus are very slow specially when u startup the phone and the phone itself often crashes and u have to restart it...BUT...if u like to hack the phone as I did that's the best phone ever..I mean..do u guys know n-gage 4 example?the phone sucks BUT the games have great graphics...well...I had on my 6600 each n-gage game out stored in my 256 mb mmc, furthermore I had a 25 languages full dictyonary on my phone, and many , many other nice programs, nice themes (not as nice as k700 ) I even had a gps program (wayfinder) and I could use the phone as a memory to carry with me some small files....with that phone u can change each menu and extremely personalize it...4 example instead of the operator logo I had a macintosh logo...BUT..the phone didn't give a nice sensation when u touched it (plastic and not very strong) furthermore it was quite big and heavy.....7610 is just the same phone with a terrible design (it seems a big leaf) no flash (are they nuts?...1 mp camera and no flash? same menus as 6600) ---->so...I'll just wait for s700 and I'll keep with love my k700 now...
ps..just a personal opinion I think z1010 is way too big...nice display but the phone looks like a sandwich..here in italy 3g has much better phones 4 3g services...
-----------------------
so...after you've tried so many phone as I did u just realize that there is no good or bad phone...each phone is built for some kind of customers....4 example a friend of mine who is a doctor wanted a smart phone 4 all his appointments and his stuff (to do, agenda ecc)...I told him that p900 was the best he could buy he bought a nokia 6600 instead 4 two reasons..he told me he had already had a p800 and even if it was a great phone he realised that it was a big nuisance for him to use the pen to properly use the phone...and p900 was too expensive, because he already had a handheld so he wanted something relatively small and esay to use...so I think it's just a matter of taste. and... @gunn it isn't a matter of arguing..if u think se suck just don't buy them anymore...so waht's the deal?..
ah...another thing where se are way better than nokia : components....very solid phone, very well built, very stilish..BUT 4 example a big issue on my k700 is that it's too easy to scratch the display

....
SORRY FOR BOTHERING YOU SO MUCH GUYS (4 the long post

)

@scorchio
obviously, the K700 wasn't designed for people who need to have every aspect of their life on a phone. and obviously I'm not one of those people. I can't fill 40mb of memory in a single day. I can wait a day, heck a week before I'd need to transfer files to my PC.
before you bring up the MP3 thing again, I'm going to repeat that the K700 was not designed as an MP3 player substitute. the ability to play MP3s was put in the phone for ringtones.
Look at it this way:
*small phone
*great screen resolution
*great UI
*40 MB on board memory
*can play MP3s as ringtones
*decent built-in camera for MMS
THIS PHONE ROCKS
as opposed to:
*MP3 player with no external memory
*0.3MP digital camera
*oh yeah... there's a built-in phone
This phone sucks

well said swipe. but dun u find it a waste to not to use the k700 as a mp3 player since it has a stereo output and a media equiliser?
i prefer SE....i love it's UI and the built quality. the screen of my 6230 got scrathed (deeply) when i placed it in my pocket with my keys for a day. my t68 which was treated the same way for a year or so looked a lot better. i guess the 6230 can't survive without a pouch under my 'care'. haha.

I think SE did this because they really wanted to push S700 as their multi-media phone: stereo, memstick, MP3 player, 1.3MP camera.

Are you sure S700 will be supported with MS ?? as I thought K700 would have MS, but I was wrong. Which MS will they put, duo or duo pro ? As we know MS duo only 128 mb max. But MS duo pro can be 512 mb.
For anyone who don't think this size matters, try to imagine K700 with 512 mb for storage instead of 41mb.
With my P900 I don't have to bring my ipod, voice recorder, digital camera, and my tablet pc anywhere. For anyone who don't think the features matters. I can explain in long detail how important this can be.

I don't understand what you're trying to established here, Gunn.
Everyone uses the phone differently. Some use more features than other, some use less storage space than other. That's precisely why they make different models with different features to serve different market segments.
The keyword here is 'different.'
And if you have all the needs for those features, you should be happy that SE made the P-900. There are plenty of others who are perfectly happy with their K700, T610/630, or whichever 'lesser' phones they've chosen.
The new SE phones may suck to you, and thanks for sharing. Personally, I don't really care what others think as long as I'm happy with my phone.

@Gunn
Yes I'm sure. Haven't you read S700 discussion? for that matter, there are already numerous photos of the S700 showing the Memstick slot and the memstick in it.
The k700 was never supposed to have memstick and SE made this clear from the beginning.
Please do some reasearch before you make all emcompassing comment like "New SE sucks."
