Chyeoh: 'Anti-aliasing' is a graphics technique that smoothes out rough edges in computer graphics you can find out more here - it will just make the fonts look better

Peanut:
I had the same problem removing/installing over v1.2 I fixed if by using fileman to remove the file 'sman.app' from the sman folder in system\Apps

v1.3 installed fine after that...

Finally... Ajack/Droll - a big thank you for your continued efforts - they are definatley most appreciated!

PS:
the Trebuchet font sets off the p900 display brilliantly

To answer my own question, I've found a way to make the fonts look a little bigger on the FC screen. Try using chunkier type faces. and bigger ones. Some fonts are larger at, say, size 14 than other ones are. Those will work best.

@chyeoh:

I will try to answer some of the questions... the rest I'll leave it to droll or somebody else has already answered...

SMan's hotkey can be configured to do an action when you press the hotkey.

While SMan is in focus, the current running program.... pressing the hotkey quickly produces and action, pressing the hotkey down for a long time produces a different action (this is the in-focus thingy). The ex-focus thingy is the same two triggers (quick press and long press) but when SMan is running in the background (not the current displayed app aka not is focus aka ex-focus).

Using the default keys when you first install SMan v1.3... if you are displaying the applications list on a P800 and the list disappears, pressing the hotkey (internet) for a long press with activate the "Fix applist" function in SMan.

Hot this explains everything.

In short, you can configure SMan to do the following... a quick press and a long press. The actions are different when SMan is in focus or running in the background and you can configure that differently again when SMan is in flipclose or flipopen modes. SO with one hotkey, you can configure EIGHT different actions... cool huh?

Ohhh.... please install SMan into drive C:... but, the autostart will still be deployed in drive D: for all UIQ devices except Motorola A92x... they need it on C:...

The new SMan icon is my attempt and a generic UIQ device with a flip... since a few people complaint that the last SMan icon was not... nice... But now, with the new icons... others are complaining that the old icon is better... will only have one icon and I can't seem to please everyone... ?!?!?!?!

Funny... I installed a chinese font, then the chinese SMS displayed correctly... however, you may have installed a traditional font and the SMS was in simplified or something.... use one called STKaiTi.ttf... it's 12MB in size but has both simplified and traditional in one TTF file...

If you still have problems... PM me your phone number and I'll call you since you are in MY.... Malaysia Boleh!

I will leave the rest to Droll...

@ all:

Guys I installed the latest build (500) of Sman, and still the flipclose flush is not working despite being checked and taken no less than 1000000000000000000000000 snapshots! The exclude flush is off btw!

Any recommendations? This is really confusing

urm, where did you get build 500 from? are you sure that's SMan?

the latest build is 200. that fixes the problems you described.

ajack will post them up on his web site tomorrow. if u can't wait, please go to my-symbian and download it from one of the threads.

@cyyeoh:
the ecom plugin that comes with sman is for supporting the vibra API on SE's phones (and any other manufacturer specific APIs). previously, you couldn't run sman on a92x models because sman was statically linked to the vibra api DLL. by using the dll proxy method, this problem is solved.

@chyeoh:

The anti-alias will only work with TrueType Fonts (.TTF files), the built in .GDR files have no effect...

I have just updated our site with the build 200 which fixes all known bugs found in the previous SMan v1.3 build. Also, added French and Spanish versions.
