ohm: Really? What airlines are they? PDAs are allowed on KLM and SAS, that's for sure since I've flown with them.

Just depends on the airline's policy really, it's up to them, not like the use of a phone, that's illegal. Bluetooth can be used on aircraft, Virgin are using it on some of their aircraft for in flight entertainment, but if you can't turn on your phone you don't need bluetooth.

Really? Then Turkish Airlines has really tough policys. I can listen to my Discman and MiniDisc, even play games on my mobile, those nice ppl at SAS and KLM don't say a thing

Only if they don't notice you playing on your mobile, it is illegal to turn them on once the engines are running.

Yeah I know.. Nowadays I don't do that anymore because it's my own safety I am jeopardizing when turning on the mobile. I just listen to music on my Discman and sleep whenever I fly now... nothing more

It always used to annoy me when airlines said you can't use a personal cd player, but you can use a laptop... given that 95% of laptops have a cd player in them!
I do appreciate that it's a safety issue, just seems like if you're in a business suit with your laptop that's okay, but if you're in a tshirt with a gameboy it probably isn't.

Regardless, glad the P800 has radio free mode, that way it won't do the huge battery suck trying to get a signal when I am stuck on the underground trying to amuse myself
