Is anyone using Opera for free internet. I am asking because if u wat to use u have to enter proxy settings on Opera. Thats all.

I think if another mail program which can use proxy for connection can connect pop3, imap, smtp address. I have no time to search or to write a program for that but I think someone can do it.

Just a amil proram that can use proxy. Becaue of this proxy stuff yahoo and hotmail and other cookie including sites can not be used.

Yes, Opera can be used, just Opera needs to have the proxy settings set in the actual browser, not just in control panel. In the opera browser you just need to find "preferece" then tap "-->" a couple of times till you get to "proxy" and enter the same proxy settings as in the first post. (Where is says Proxy Name, enter the IP)

Does the 91500 number still work for Genie sims? i used to use it then moved to a P900 and cant get a connection. I have got the new number from the O2 site but it is 07712927927 and I'm not sure if it is free like the old number....

TIA

@timboR

If you top up then you get 300 mins of dialup free but the settings shown on the first post in this thread will enable you to get free gprs on your new sim without topping up.make sure gprs is activated on your accout though (can call o2 to do that 4 u, but it should be already activated since its a new sim).Try the GPRS first and if it doesnt work then call o2 to set up your accout.As for dialup,its only free if u top up (i think) u could try without topping up and tell us your findings.hope this helps n hope i answered your question.

Are there any messengers that you can set a proxy setting for? Because I am using this Freed GPRS setting, and want to use msn etc free. Does Agile Messenger 3 allow you to set a proxy? Or does it autodetect? Just wondering, 'cause TipicME seems not to work when I have the free settings on.

Also, is there any way I can update my firmware myself without buying a cable (I have the standard usb cable), because I would like to take video and be able to install agile messenger 3 (needs new firmware)

no instant messengers will work on these free GPRS settings because these settings are wap internet settings and not the full internet settings that are required for such services.Full internet settings are only available for contract subscribers (well on o2,dont know abotu the others) so unfortunately we cant use instant messengers unless somebody knows another way that will make them work under these settings on PAYG
