@Rafiq,

Salaams. In my opinion, I will always have a soft spot for my old Nokia 2110. This is the phone that actually put them on the map. Nokia only planned to sell about 50K of these things and in the end, they sold more than 500K. If you think about it, you can parallel the story of Nokia to Microsoft, except Nokia does invent things and did not get where it was by stealing almost ever

Nokia greyscale models are still selling like anything here in India. Here, most people doesn't bother about data services, memory, screen and stuff. A simple easy to use, cheap phone which is reliable. And i have to say, nokia has tapped this low end market brilliantly. This message was posted from a T230

This is old news. We have discussed this before. SE is not really concerned about the low end market. Nokia and others are already there. Why waste money and margin on a market that is already saturated. In the other markets, such as Dubai, Kuwait, German, the UK, you see the segmentation. SE is considered a higher end phone.

Now where in that post did i mention SE to do that? I said what Nokia did in India. And in most countries world over. This message was posted from a T230

Well, you had a thread a few months ago about SE having high prices and that people in India would not buy them because of the price, etc.... The bottom line is that from a technical point of view, SE is much better than Nokia. Siemens is even better technically. From a "cool" point of view, SE is like the iPods of phones. They work, they are cool and they are on a roll.
