I think that it is time for a proactive approach for us to email SE to ask about the launch date for the P990i instead of just waiting and doing nothing.
SE cannot ignore the emails when there are thousands of email requests from around the world.

Let us email to location: Sweden or Japan.

on the other hand, no matter how many customers email SE the P990 won't be ready any sooner and they won't release it before they think it is ready

I think thats quite true,

will only release it when its 100% ready and that's how we like it. Come on folks, be a little more patient

@mario2002; I agree that W_I_P was trying to cheer us all up. Just not into a kind of "said" hope, but again he may have been honest and might've said/typed different from what he meant, which is most likely. Sure I'll give him a break ... sorry.
Yes Patience is a virtue to those whom wait.

I will have been waiting for the P990 for a whole year! That's pretty ridiculous. Hopefully SE will surprise us and release it sooner than later...
How long have you been holding on to your current model m8? We old vets have had our P910s as early as the fall of 2004. I picked mine up early September of '04 so relative to your woes I would say my P910 was extincted well before this year. I have to admit that this is the longest yard stretch from my P800 -> P900 -> P910. You just gotta pick up a new toy in the meanwhile until the candy shop opens up again.

I don't mind waiting a bit longer for a stable and complete device.
But I hope SE do take note that in the UK most networks offer a new phone (upgrade) every 12 or 18 months (depending on the contract). So SE need to work with this type of cycle if they want to keep customers. I will definitely get the K750 replacement for my wife - best phone she's ever had!

I am sorry... but how would they do that?
After all....not everyone opens a contract on...say...20th Jan...
I am sure everyday of the year someone somewhere opens a contract....
Maybe not with the P series...but will their other products....they have launched the next product less than 12 months after the previous model...
Not that bad... I know that people are looking forward to the P990...and that being the case...I would prefer to hear any news or "hands on experiences" rather than the moaning thread this has turned into on occasions...
I have found Bengalboy's updates here and on his site very enjoyable and informative as well as the inital P990 experiences of Masseur and others...
Fantastic insights....
