i reckon it might just be a restriction of the network then and the area i'm in..... like it's not transferring the packets across properly or something.
Has anyone tried Fring yet? Is it good to use as for msn etc?

Finally, it's here and sitting next to me
I can't believe how excited I still get when getting a new toy to play with!!
Haven't had much time to play with it as had to rush off to work straight after receiving it.
I had a bit of a scare when I first opened the box as I couldn't find the sim release tool (What a pain in the backside that thing is)!! But eventually found it inserted into the small case cover.
Popped my t-mobile sim in and crossed me fingers. And voila it all seemed to work perfect. Made a couple of quick calls. Sent a couple of quick texts. And no problems as yet.
Now just gotta get it all sync'ed up and sort out my.mac email.
Oh and it's already running 2.1 so I may wait a tad till I jailbreak it. Don't fancy ruining my new toy just yet.
PS I only have 19 apps so far (inc phone, mail, safari etc). Are those the default amount that came with the phone?
Will give a better update when Ive had more alone time with the phone.......
Thanks all for your help and advice... and convincing me to get the phone

finally indeed!
personally, I'm not bothered about jailbreaking any more as there is more free stuff in the appshop than you could ever possibly use

But you can't get Categories from the App Store, and that's the one thing... along with Inteliscreen, that I really want.
Oh, by the way, when getting an incoming call, is there a way of setting the phone so as not to "Slide to Answer". Just a simple, traditional way of answering would be much better. I checked the settings and can't seem to find a way of doing this.
Now, I must do some work!!!!!!

Yeah but there are a few things that'll never be made available in the app store ie themeing capabilities and such, and for me QuickGold is the most useful app i have ever used on my iPhone.
But i agree, jailbreaking isnt what it once was, pre-app store. Back in the day of 1.1.4 and even before then, a jailbroken iphone was worlds apart from a non-jb device.
Pleased you got the phone ok scouser_75.... Enjoy! I'm sure you'll be back here with some ?'s, once you managed to put it down that is!

There is, kinda, if you jailbreak it... you can download 'tap to unlock' and 'tap to answer' sliders from Cydia. Then you dont have to swipe everytime you unlock or answer a call....

Thanks Ryan.
Also, I figured out that when phone is on lock and you get a call you have to slide to answer. But if it is not locked then you can tap to answer. Bit weird, but never mind.
I need some games on here so I just tried to go into the App store, but it seems to be down. Can anyone confirm?
