Ive managed to delete them, but everytime i reboot my handset they reappear.

that's because they're created by the main firmware on boot up. The same if you delete the "others" folder for example.
The only way would be through a patch. I don't think there are such patch yet.

Has anyone tried to maximize the free space on their phone? Deleting all unnecessary files etc. I read a post with someone doing it to their w810, but I'm afraid to do it to my w910 without a full backup. What's the max free space that you can get?

That's what I did with my W910.
TPA\PRESET\DEFAULT\AUDIO (IMAGE)
I replaced the default images and audio with 0 byte files. I didn't delete them because these files are present in Default.xml and therefore they will be required when you master-reset. I didn't manage to edit it.
TPA\USER
I deleted most of original files.
I have a total of about 30Mb free.
You can delete the java apps/games as well.
