it's hard to explain but easy to understand.
I don't want to repeat all history.
btw I forgot one very important thing, to make children by artificial way.
So sorry if I am rude.

@miss - I probably would miss the rain, in a strange kind of way! I suppose because I'm used to it or something. I am tempted though by buggering off to somewhere like one of the Greek isles or Malta - although I've only experienced their culture whilst on holiday for a week, I'd love to live in one of those places. And admittedly it was nice to be able to go out in the evening wearing shorts and T-shirts and not be cold, and I like that 'cafe' type culture out there too. which wouldn't be possible in the UK due to the weather. And the drunken morons as well, of course!

But, as I say, I think I'd miss England too much to live there permanently!

@Scots - Do you have any theories about British binge drinking and yob behaviour? I've often wondered how Continentals are able to drink all evening and then go home without the urge to start fights and yet British town centres tell a different story. This message was posted from a T68i

my personal, and therefore undoubtedly coloured, observation is that generally speaking 'us' continentals go out drinking with the objective of having a good time. Getting drunk is not the main motivation and not necesarily the result.

Brits appear to go out to drink...... rather massively

I've also noticed that in Amsterdam single women may walk into a bar late in the evening and have a drink and not be hassled. I can't imagine that happening in the UK. This message was posted from a T68i

After the UK, Amsterdam is such a friendly, relaxed place. You've got more pick-pockets than us though! ;-) This message was posted from a T68i
