"Released on SEUS 10/6/05 ". I thought SEUS meant the SE web updater service..? R2AY004 sure isn't there yet. (At least not available to my unbranded R2AE033.)

No, I don't think it made its way there yet...Still official SE service centers have received this latest firmware for about 3-4 days now, so I took the plunge and I had mine updated earlier today.
Pros:
-Faster BT reception (50K/sec), broadcast remains the same at apprx. 25K/sec
-Images thumbnails load faster
-mp4s (aac) can now be set as ringtones (finally)
Cons:
-I don't seem to get any better low light condition quality photos as noted by some users here before (camera software ver. is same 3.10)
-Phonebook multicharacter search crash bug still exists
Software version: R2AY004
LCD Current: 200406041
ITP: CXC 125 813 R2C (instead of R1T as noted on page 1)

@ TomeOne
The "blue background" can be switched off - it's just an option that is enabled by default on unbranded firmware that keeps the GPRS connected the whole time.
Go into Connectivity > Data comm. > Preferred service > GSM only

Is the multicharacter search in the phone book available yet for asian language firmwares?

will switching off the "gsm and gprs" option in the conectivity menu that u speak of, lead to a lose of functionality in mms messaging for example? because i think that mms messages are delivered through gprs

No, MMS, e-mail and other GPRS programs will work fine. I have gprs switched off from menu in both t610 and k700, but still using gprs for e-mail, wap, mms and everything is working fine

It doesn't switch GPRS off as such, it just means it's not connected the whole time. When you want to go on WAP or send an MMS, for example, it will connect.
