@ Ihe, BAD BELLE. Thank God, you don't work in glo. Who stopped you from browsing more? As a matter fact glo should grant me discount to encourage me to break that record. What do you think? This message was posted from a K500

@ihe. I have no questions about my daughter's value. Its OUR values that I am questioning. Just to name a child, we have to throw a party. Just to say "Your name is Ihe", everyone is running up and down. The UNNECESSARY stress. The UNNECESSARY expenses. Thatz the way I feel about it. I know others may disagree, but left to me....

@ihe. Its a relief that therez at least one person out there who sees my point. Nigerians, & Africans generally, throw away millions of naira every year on frivolities like this. Ask some of them to invest & they couldnt give a hoot. Its no wonder our countries remain backward in the things that REALLY matter.

@momo. Thanks. I understand. Its part of what I'm "griping" about. People are often pressured to stretch themselves to attend occassions like these, most times are also xpected to "perform", & often feel guilty when not able to. We burn time, money, energy & so much more on these our ceremonies.

If it were possible, I'd be somewhere sleeping all through d ceremony myself. My body's worn out! But... thatz wishful thinking

@AYA: E don reach time to do naming ceremony you don change to philosopher.
True talk we spend too much on celebrations. When mine does come I will name him/her right from the hospital; why should a baby be nameless for 7 days. Some tradition indeed!!! Anyway, AYA you now know what to do when the next baby comes!!!

@brym. I tire o! We've been calling her "Baby" since. At times, I just laugh. My bros, I talked too during my wedding o. We went 2 d registry (1st wedding), did traditional (2nd wedding), did church (3rd wedding). Just imagine. I wedded d same gal thrice (without breaking up once!). Naija 4 show.

Hey! Did I hear you say "next baby"? No way. My wife & I have closed d baby making chapter of our long life together. PS: We paid 35k for delivery; & my son's school just increased tuition fee to 40k per term! Why would I want to multiply those expenses? Thanks, but no thanks. :|
