^^^ Read my post on the end of page 470 and the one after that.

Messages are only read when they are received.

I don't know about the apparent discrepancy between options available. I'm using the U.S. version.

I am using voice command....but there is no option for messaging. There is only option for email, but there is no option to read the incoming message.

I am using the U.S. PPC version. On the settings main screen it says v1.60.4622.0

Well, you guys should also know I have the 384MB version of the X1....

Yeah right... and the main reason you don't have 30 fps in video its because you now have 384 Mb of RAM... (being sarcastic)...
