Shyam they might be Crap , but have enough steam to kick the a** out of some higher clocked intels in most departments and they are much cheaper. The 939 is definitely better than the 754, but my question is , does everyone neede a power hungry machine? The 939 is truly for professionals who use MAYA and stuff like than and hardcore gamers! And also, its more expensive.

these days , the performance doesnt depend only on cpu ,but there are other factors also (the longhorn way) , in a few months most of the code will be optimised for dual cores which can give much more output that a single core,so u can imagine how a single core is going to struggle after a year (not all apps,but i reckon most),anything below 3ghz/3000+ (not to mention about dc) would be a sacrifice if u buy a new pc now.

I agree with you on the dual channel part, but still it comes to this, how many users will be concerned about difference in performance. I'm sure the average guy wouldn't be. (Noteven me!!) Put 3gigs of RAM to the 754 and i'm sure it will work fine!
