Indeed it is gone. It means a new version should be up soon, hopefully followed soon by the R6 fw.

I have tried to download it from the SE support page, but it gives the "File not found" error.

is SE actually planning to fix the SEUS bug that fails to detect if you have current firmware?

Anybody know if there is a way to determine the CDA from outside the retail box of a p990, on the white sticker?
I want to buy another phone and would like to know.
Thanks

The CDA is not specified on the outside of the retail box, however, there is information about the country it was intended for. It's not 100 % but if you eliminate the obvious CDAs corresponding to known regions, the remaining should give you one of the World generic versions.

I would say there is something wrong, I have never noticed any flickering on my screen with any fw.
Back to the service center

OK, so far all I read is that the memory and the speed have improved slightly but there are problems inroduced...
The camera seems to have lost it's brilliance and the music lost its bass which are two of the best features of the P990. The e-mails are also giving some people trouble.
Maybe I missed it but one of the things that I hated was the fact that Quick Office is so slow, has this been improved? Does anyone know?
This looks like one update I'll be staying away from.
If anyone from SE is reasing this, couple of points I'd like you to look into:
1 - When the phone restarts for "performance" reasons, can you please ensure that the LED starts flashing (just like when I have a missed call or when I get a messge)? This way the phone brings to my attention the fact that it has rebooted.
2 - Is there anyway you can fix the current leak on the 3G circuitry? I am sure its a current leak as the battery lasts much much longer with 3G turned off. However, if you turn on the 3G and turn it off from software without restarting the phone the battery still dies in a few hours.
I waited ages for this phone and was very dissappointed with the 3G performance. I also wanted to use it as a mini PC with the Quick Office software but the performance of that isn't too great either.
You can fix many things with firmware updates, but not technical faults. I'll wait for the next firmware update where the camera is returned its good capabilities and Quick Office is updated.

zoom2007:
do you know if camera and office applications will be improved on the next firmware? or is it only a dream "wish"?
Room:
Have you guys had any trouble when connecting to GPRS? I have setup on my world generic p990 the expected fields in order to connect to my GSM provider, but for some strange reason I cannot (for this I use the connections->internet accounts, because if I try to use the "internet wizard", I got "No settings available, Please contact your operator"...how the hell can I set those settings?).
Another thing that I have experienced is that anytime I take out the memory stick chip from the phone, and insert it back again, almost all my installed application (that I had arranged in my own created folders) appear under the "Tools" folder.
Of course I have not updated my FW with the latest, the one I have is:
Phone: CXC162037 R9EC001
BT: CXC162058 R5A01
ORG: CXC162036 R4B03
CDA: CDA162007/2 R4B03
Maybe on the latest (R5) this problem has been resolved.
Cya.
