Why fuss over a crap shootout from an outrageously biased site?
I don't see the point in wasting time reading them TBH
@admad
these factors:
Z1 = 1/2.3", F/2 f=5mm
G2 = 1/3.0 F/2.4 f=4mm
S4 = 1/3.0 F/2.2 f=4mm
If you know some basics in Phoptography you'd surely understand that such disparities on lens/sensor numbers woudl mean that the depth of field will be influenced, considering the distance between the object in the center frame, from which I assume the camera is focusing at, it could be that this could be a "bokeh effect" rather than lens problem. or if I'm wrong with that then it could be a minor camera shake considering that the user pressed the shutter button located on the right portion when the phone is held in landscape, even digital cameras suffer from such issue especially when shooting at lowlight, both G2 and S4 takes pictures through touchscreen anyway. also we cannot rule out the possibility that the lens is smudged with fingerprints since it was position way too close to the edge which where the fingers typically rest.
try harder with your trolls, I must say your eyes are good but you're using it the wrong way
And to be frank, you're becoming annoying, sad to say this but this is not the kind of post that I expect from a senior member

because it's a site many still visit. it's also a site that is quite consistent in providing regular mobile phone related updates. it's still quite a useful site despite the apparent bias. those who see the z1 as a superior product can't just let one quite popular site to unjustly spread undesirable propaganda about it.
anyway, looks like phonearena is still busy trying to make sony appear inferior. a new revision to the article is upcoming. looks like we'll be seeing the device coming with less than desirable photos again.

LOL
As long as there has already been a set of nice pictures taken by Z1 with proper settings, it already proved Z1's imaging capabilities. (meaning you can take great pics with it if you know what you are doing)
I can always take a terrible picture even if a camera is great (hell even if it's a DSLR), but only a good camera can take a great picture. Which Z1 has already proved.
We discussed camera earlier, then screen, then camera again, then screen again, and now camera again, oh joy

And who said a crap camera can't take good pictures?

"There is a big difference between trolls and critics, they can both see imperfections, but the latter gives credit to where its due, the trolls would just overlook that and proceed with the bashing"
@djin: My bad, yes I mistook the third one for Z1 thanks for correcting!
@admad: you've gone way too low calling me like that, so much for a decent post from a senior member, thanks anyway

^ Cheap camera does not necessarily mean crap camera. There are cheap point and shoots out there that takes great pics.

and I'd categorize those cheap cameras that takes decent pics (quality wise) as good cameras.

Not sure there, those are shot at mere auto settings, when both cameras offer manual modes which could help producing much better pictures. 1020 has the sensor size advantage, hence it'll have better bokehs than the Z1 for sure, but Z1's sensor has a bit larger photodiodes in comparison, so I'm guessing that the latter will edge out the Nokia (at full res) when taking photos with strong highlights.
