After 8 years, OBJ has failed to put any major telecoms infrastructure. They squandered the money from the GSM licenses. The latest 400 million USD will go the same way.

The fuel queues are back. We are importing 100% of our petrol/diesel. Power is down by 50% because they are maintaining some plants.

My boet, we are in trouble here o! When did U say u were planning to visit us again?

I think there's two ways...either government can pour all it's resources into building capital infrastructure or out-source this job to foreign company.

That's exactly what we need.. But from the way things happen in this country, 80% of the monies awarded for capital infrastructure is pocketed by some pot bellied old men that refuse to die after wrecking our country.

The major problem I believe is corruption.

@brix, Two places you must visit: Ajegunle and the Niger Delta creeks. Thank God u are as black as us... or else those ND boys may make some cool millions on ur neck. U may even get some cool publicity when they release u and u visit OBJ in Aso Villa. Lucky u!

I am hoping to visit Bonny Island in Rivers State sometime this month or in March when I am free-er. I have two old-classmates there... one of whom is a Naval Officer, so I think I am in good hands.

amby amby! in someareas that dont need massive infrastructure dev regulation is the tipping point btwn success and failure. comparing us with other developing countries with less resources, we are lagging. badly! for how many years has gsm services been in cameroun? MTN services are better and cheaper there.

brix: everything needed for gprs or any other data is already on ground. the only thing needed is for the govt to regulate the services properly. MTN makes claims on mms and gprs services nationwide while in reality its sporadic at best. it has nothing to do with thier capabilities, just that there is no regulation.

coola: isnt it a shame with the (disappearing) middle class in naija, things are so hard we cant cultivate a vacationing trend. at best we go to the village for the hols. its this inability that makes it hard to attract foreign tourists. we cant attract domestic!

btw if i was chinese i'd be offended by your last joke. any how, someone in china is making a joke about africans being cannibals!
